K-3 Approval - next steps

My wife (US citizen) received notification that on October 16th our K-3 was approved and sent to the NVC/State Department for processing. In it they stated that if she had not heard within 30 days she should contact them. She has emailed to ascertain status. Just wondering if anyone knows how long to hear from NVC/State Department about the next steps. We are conscious that it is coming up to Thanksgiving then Christmas, so do things slow down at this time of year? or is 4/5 weeks before Christmas plenty of time to hear from the NVC/State Department?

Anyone with first hand experience, could you shed some light?

Thanks in advance

When NVC gets your case from USCIS they need about 30-45 days to assign case #

I suggest you call NVC and ask. You will need your NOA2 receipt number.

Call NVC right now! You got approved on EXACTLY the same date my I129F got approved, and today I got a case number. You might be lucky and find out that they have sent it to the embassy.

I130 takes 42 days to assign a case number.

You'd need to call the NVC to inquire if your I-130 or I-129F is being processed.

what news from NVC on the I-129F? I-130?

what were uscis approval dates on I-129F and the I-130?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Darnell,

My I-130 and I-129F were both approved by the USCIS on October 16th 2014, stating that the applications were approved and sent to NVC for processing. I am still waiting for communication from NVC or even the US Embassy in London.

whatever 'documentation' you read, alluding to contact to you,

is wrong.

use a telephone, ask petitioner to call in to NVC when they are open.

fwiw, since both were approved on same day, then both will travel into NVC together.

NVC staffers will see an approved I-130, and administratively close the approved I-129F,

and

you'll get to have more fun at NVC doing Immigrant Visa application process with them, starting with a DS-261.

Go Get Em, and Good Luck !

Sra9691 has not been back on since December. It would be better if you started your own thread to ask questions rather then wait for an update.
