London consulate, any way to request an earlier interview date?

Years ago (when we did the K1) everybody scheduled their medical whenever they wanted to, often the day before or even the day after the interview. They told you "approved pending medical" and held the passport. When the medical arrived they issued the visa and sent it out. There were paper forms and a paper checklist to mail in where you checked off the documents you had in hand to indicate you were ready to interview. That got you a date.

I guess they decided it would be more efficient to have the medical results so the whole thing could be done and dusted right then and there on interview day. No back tracking through so many cases to review again when the medical arrived. So now they can force the whole K and DCF groups to attend the medical first. They don't hold that power over cases processed and scheduled at NVC.

There is no problem with Twinkies arrangement. They have handled those close dates routinely in the past. Their wait will just depend on how quickly the officer gets back to them. It could be immediately or he could leave it sitting a week or to before he gets around to it. Always that unknown wait :(

My fiancé just received his interview letter. He put in his form that we planned to marry on dec 19 & that's now his interview date. Is there anyway they'd give him an earlier date? Has anyone been successful at this? Any advice would be recommended. I told him to contact them & ask. I mean, it'll only delay things by two weeks, really. But he won't be here for Christmas with an interview date that late...

DId your fiance contact the Embassy?

My fiance put 12/14 as our intended wedding day and his interview is 12/19 as well. I contracted the embassy and they said there are no earlier dates.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems most people have have interview dates 12/18 or 12/19. I think one person may have had 12/9. Perhaps they only do K1 interviews a couple days a month? That would explain why it's impossible to get an earlier date

K1s interview every day. Not everybody is on Visa Journey to post their interview. It is impossible right now because of the holidays. Everybody wants to travel before Christmas, including the embassy staff. Otherwise people are often granted a request for an earlier date.

My fiance had his medical on Nov 24 and embassy received results on Nov 28......a few weeks ago I sent an email pleading for him to get here before NYE because that was our wedding but they replied back saying they cant schedule anything until medical results and not to hold out any hope essentially. Well last night I called the NVC at 11:00pm to ask about interview date and it has been SCHEDULED.....our interview is December 17!!!!! There is a very good chance he could be here for NYE so I am not sure if it was just luck that we got an early interview or if they did honor my request for an early interview???? Not sure but dont give up hope!!!
