Change of plans! Dear god, what a crazy situation.

My mother, who is a very persuasive lawyer, called the Correios and talked to the same man. Turns out he also had a daughter Mariana and felt sympathetic. He will be making an exception and changing it to Sedex 10. So if the consulate sends it on Monday before 4pm, it will get to me Tuesday at 10am. If they send it Monday after 4pm or Tuesday, it will get to me Wednesday 10am (ugh!)

And he also told her that I can't pick it up at the post offices, I would have to pick it up at the consulate. Although I'm sure he told me otherwise. And I'm pretty sure you can't pick it up at the consulate even if you live in the same city.

Woow, roller coaster of emotions! :o

Sorry, but I didn't get the part where the guy from Correios will be able to change if the costumer (In this case the Embassy) should be the one deciding on the kind of service they want. Maybe I am wrong since I don't know how it works for the K1 Visas, but I hope we will be able to do it! Keep on calling to remind him tho! Try to relax and make sure everything will be fine! :)

Omg that's crazy! I hope they can send it by sedex 10, I don't see why not since you are the one who is paying and plus it's a consulate mistake.

Renata is right try to relax even if sounds impossible.

After your interview you are obligated to go to the Correios, pay the fee and go back to give them the receipt. At that time, they gave me two options, Sedex and Sedex 10. Dumb me picked Sedex.

The guy from Correios was just saying that they can't really change it from Sedex to Sedex 10 when it's already been paid, and his Correios agency could be fined. I don't believe it's that serious because he ended up doing it for us, so...

Thanks one more time, dear!

That's right!

And the guy on the phone was like "hmmm okay, I can try to do that, but you will have to pay extra...", and my mom was like "that's okay, we can pay, how much?", and he said "R$42" or something like that, as if it was a big deal

I was getting prepared to pay for a last minute ticket!

Thank you :)

Just an update:

I went to Rio to pick it up, ran like crazy, got back home and boarded my original flight.

I can't explain how stressful it was. I was very, very lucky that it worked out.

NEVER BUY TICKETS BEFORE HAVING YOUR VISA IN HAND
