Hi all,

My fiancee' got her approval and K1 visa on January 11th. Hurrah!

Now, we're looking into buying tickets for her to the US.

Is she allowed to travel to the US with a one-way ticket with the K1 visa? Or must she have a valid return ticket?

Thanks alot! This forum has be extremely valuable in the process, not only for the information but the tremendous support of its members. Go VJers!

Oops, sorry, I should have done a seach in this forum before I posted my question.

According to all accounts, the US does not require a return ticket when entering on K1 visas.

Apologies for the wasted bandwidth!

There is no problem but I think you'll find that a one-way is cheaper.

In our case it was - and there was a big difference.

A one-way ticket is fine. If feasible, you might have your fiancée buy the ticket where she lives; it could save you a considerable amount of money. Claudeth purchased a ticket for about $150 less than what my travel agent could get it for. Good luck

Did she have to show here Visa to the travel agent? I've read here in VJ that some airlines won't sell int'l flights without proof of visa.
