My wife has an internet connection, but not broadband connection so using skpe is not an option. We do have webcam chats but not ideal when she is on dial-up

I'm in Charlotte NC and my wife is from Rajkot Gujarat.

You might want to look into using a cellullar service like Airtel or Hutch with a GPRS connection. My fiance used her cell with Airtel and yahoo chats with cam was not a problem. The connection was remarkably decent. It was not much more than dial-up too.

My fiance's interview in Delhi went pretty smooth. She was asked pretty straight forward questions like where and when we met, my job occupation, family members, when was I in india etc. She said her interviewer was pretty nice to her and was not out to try and ruin the the process. If everything is in order, you should have the passport with the visa returned in about a week. I fly tomorrow morning to Singapore to see her after 8 months of waiting. Good luck.

DCF filing has not been stopped or affected in Indiia. The Delhi office in India has not been affected by the latest policy issue since they are a USCIS service center. not only have i read things online and in VJ but i also called the embassy.

everyone thinks that people file DCF in India but they DONT...what they do in India is DOUF(Direct Overseas USCIS FIling) since, fortunately, in India there is USCIS field office available to accept I-130 and everyone must file thru them.

While DCF (Direct conular filing) is, in reality, not possible in India since none of the four consulates in India(i.e Mumbai, delhi, chennai, Kolkutta) are authorize to accept 130 directly so DCF kind of not possble but everyone has to do DOUF through USCIS office in Delhi....!!!

So there is no impact for people....Hope this helps....
