I filed it in July 17. Got an email saying they put me in interview and testing since Aug 20 and till this day- same thing. When I call they said, its because they are still processing April applications. Does it mean they are backed up 4 months and I wont get an interview till March. My passport will probably in April 2015. Is this going to be an issue? So frustrated!!!

According to the timelines on here, St. Paul takes about 1 year from AOS filing to Green Card. I haven't looked at it lately so I'm not sure if it's normally 1 year to card in hand or 1 year to interview. It's a long haul up here in MN.

I actually did not apply for K -1. I have been residing in US since 2006. We filed concurrently for I-485 and I-130. We finally got transferred to an immigration officer today and turns out they still had wrong address. We should be hearing something by December 4th. Crossing my fingers because everytime we find out something is wrong. I have talked to the NCHS and changed address like 3 times already and they still did not update the address.

Background on me and my husband, I came here on F1-visa. I met him in July 17 2010 and got married on June 27 th of this year. And he filed a petition to change my status to permanent resident. We filed our case on July 17 2014. I got biometric Mid August, received Travel Docs and EAD on End of August. I was put on interview scheduling since Aug 20th. Normally people get interview date a month after that and in my case its going to be 3 months almost.

People don't get their interviews scheduled 30 days after they move to the testing/interview stage. Check the processing time for your local office on the USCIS' website for a better idea of how long the wait will be.

Hi CdnRN, that is awesome that you got your green card within 3 months. I was in F-1 Status when I filed for green card. We got married in June 27 and filed in July 17. I received my EAD in end of August and my biometric in beginning of August. I was put in interview scheduling and testing phase since Aug 20. And it keeps updating every month to the same status. Honestly I have a lot of friends from my state and there green card was approved in 4 months. I dont know why Saint Paul is so late. I think there is a problem with our case. We have changed our address like 3 times by now. Recently last week we discovered the immigration officer jotted wrong PO BOX number when my husband called last time. We have been waiting for I797-c receipt from the day we filed on his status. It is still on initial review.

Nope, check my timeline or signature below. 178 days from mailing my file to green card in hand. That's 2 days shy of 6 months. I was in testing and interview from Late June until early October when they scheduled me. Is been told to expect up to 60 days more of waiting for an interview due to the backlog. I didn't end up waiting that long, but I cannot say why with certainty. The average time for my local office was shorter but gas now slowed down.

The way an IO described if to me was to assume every day moves the last file they worked on ahead by one day. So what is the processing time at your local office? That is what will help you out.

As for a updated passport, I renewed mine while waiting. If you can estimate how long it will take including turnaround time you can decide if it's worth getting. If you have AP and can travel, I renewed mine quickly by traveling home to canada, that would be an option... Otherwise I didn't really need my new one for the interview...

It says for MN I-485 they are processing April 2013 applications. Doesnt give exact time frame. I do have travel documents. I don't know what AP stands for but since its been almost 3 months that I have on interview and testing status, I don't want to book a flight at this moment and go to my home country cuz I can get scheduled for interview any time. I can renew my passport online but I would have to send the passport and it normally takes 3 months to get it back from my country so don't wana take that risk either.

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do other than wait. USCIS received our AOS package on June 10th. We have yet to enter into interview and testing. My local office (San Antonio) is on par with Saint Paul as they are also working on April 2014 cases. I made an INFOPASS appointment for December 4th. I'm trying to reschedule it for December 15th. I'm hoping the new processing times will reflect a completed case that was filed after mine (remember the times are posted approximately 1.5 months in delay). That's really the only way for USCIS to take an inquiry seriously. Otherwise, they will tell you need to wait longer.

And Advanced Parole is a type of travel document. It's intended for emergency purposes only. My husband received it, but we are way too chicken too use it (although plenty of people use it without problems). My husband needed to renew his passport as well. He just went to the closest El Salvadorian embassy and was issued one on the same day. Maybe that's an option for you?

Wishing all of your luck on your immigration journeys.

wish you well is all I can say. I just talked to a friend of mine in MN who filled in August and is going to interview on dec 18. She used a lawyer and was saying that those people who use lawyers get their cases processed faster than those who don't. I did not want to believe that because that will be way to unfair, however she said that her case moved to testing and interviewing and was stuck there for a while before she received a date. I have faith I will receive a letter for January 2015 and so will you.
