Hi!

Do I need to wait for my NOA2 to come to go forward with those 2 steps? Do they take long to book or come back with results?

In Montréal, can I go to local police or I need to go to the RCMP? Do I need a special form or I just show up or book an appointment?

thanks!

You're getting way ahead of yourself! You need to read the guides and wikis on this site. They will provide you with all the info you need and more.

Do not get your police clearance or medical done yet. You need to wait. Do you live in Montreal?? What province/where will determine what you need to do for police check.

22 Jan 2013 -- packageSent
31 Jan 2013 -- NOA1 from NBC

6 Mar 2013 -- I130 transferred to Orlando local field office (which started the whole nightmare)

Mar 2013 to October 2013 no one would tell us where our case was or what was happening. I suspected the whole time it was just sitting in a corner somewhere in the Orlando field office. I was pretty much right.

October 2013 - get congressman involved. Congressman asks USCIS repeatedly about our case but they won't even tell them anything.

31 Jan 2014- finally get NOA2!!!! (we think the nightmare is over!)

NVC

Our case was not sent from the Orlando field office as it should have been. The nightmare continues. We kept calling NVC and asking if they received our case, and they always said "NO" and that we had to wait 90 business days for it to be received. We called USCIS during this time and they kept telling us it had been sent. After the 90 days of agonizing frustration, NVC then started telling us we had to wait 120 business days. I got our congressman involved again, and they told the congressman it was sitting at the Orlando office this whole time (just as I thought it was!).

22 Apr 2014 -- NVC received
16 May 2014 -- NVC case number assigned
24 May 2014 -- AoS and IV bills paid

28 May 2014 -- Sent AoS and IV Packages

6 June 2014 -- documents scanned

18 July 2014 -- false checklist from NVC

21 July 2014 -- Case complete

28 July 2014 -- receive case complete email from NV

30 July 2014 -- interview booked! September 11 here I come!

Embassy
04 Sept 2014 -- Medical
11 Sept 2014 -- Interview - APPROVED!!!!
15 Sept 2014 -- Package arrived at Loomis location!!!

Well the TSC process is already so long, I was just trying to make sure the next step could be expeditive. I should get my NOA2 pretty soon, I just pass the 5 months mark which is the average for K1. I guess I'll wait then. I just don't want to be stuck here for months just because i'm waiting for appointment,

I am in Montreal and i'm moving to NY states.

I'll go look at the wikis

thanks

Oh believe me, I know how excruciating the wait time is!!!

At this point, just make sure you have everything you need ready for the interview. Once you get your NOA2, then you can start looking into the other things. The police check should be a really simple process.. and the medicals can usually be done in a hurry.

Make sure you have your immunizations up to date.. and really.. get the documentation down pat! I was a dummy and waited close to the end to get my docs in order.. and no word of a lie it took me 3 solid 8 hour days to arrange it all!

Good luck!

Thank you!

We have already everything ready to go!

I have my vaccination booklet from my childhood and all my update shots!

Just waiting for the darn TSC to hurry so I can pack my stuff and move to our new house!

We chose the K1 route hoping it would be way faster than the CR1 but it's getting really frustrating especially seeing people at the CSC being approved in 2 weeks and TSC waiting 5+months

You can't get the medical done until after the interview is booked. But you can go ahead and get the police check now as it's valid for 1 year at Montreal.
