You are so right about peoples motives. Especially for Nigeria. I have known of neighbor people who lied to field investigators telling them the person was married had wife and kids in village just to mess them up. Jealousy can do many things.

Plus my ears went up wondering why in the world AFTER an interview and AP would you take on a NEW job in a NEW state when you are about to move (hopefully). Just seems crazy. And personally I doubt very seriously if wife in US agreed. Probably she had no say in the matter.

Just dumb move on all accounts. And Ontarkie is right your friend knows all the gossip going around and knows there are probably field agents right outside his complex watching his ever move why would he not correct such a thing. Family friend. Sister visiting. Sounds like a dang harem up in there what you think immigration going to think.

And he will come back and post on VJ how Immigration is so mean and bad and hates Nigerians and pick on them. Na wa o, abi.

she was 100% in support dweels trust me on this. trust me! thats why it seems a lot bizarre to me

This are the kind of people that makes AP rampant in Lagos because no sane person would do such except his dating his host.

Lets not rush into conclusion here! every case is different and who says that the spouse who rents a house and stays alone will find AP alot easier? or wouldnt ditch the marriage 2-3yrs down the lane??

I would have had the same thoughts you guys had if I didnt know these guys involved and the wife isnt dumb she is a pretty smart woman and must have weighed all options

That was the dumbest move I have heard. Why in the world would someone who is going through AP even consider or do such a thing. They are checking him out for the validity of his relationship and he moves in with a single woman. Are you kidding me.

Oh well may God be with them,. Just shaking my head.

And by the way he is sending the wrong impression. I mean he is married he is living with a single woman. You don't or he doesn't see how bad that looks. The spouses permission. I doubt that she probably had no say so in the matter. What she going to do drive by every night from the US.

I am sure they are watching every move he makes. What do you think they do with a contact list....let me stop this just gets me more pissed off just reading it.

Dwheels, I couldn't have said it any better. you see why Nigerians are always treated like fraudsters when we go for interviews. Damn when I read this yesterday, I was so pissed off. This is stupidity to the highest degree, wow please I need to stop before I sound too mean.

I cant believe how either the wife or her husband thought that'd be a good idea during the immigration process. Even if they weren't going through the process a married man living with a single woman while his wife is in another country would raise eyebrows.

One of the stranger posts I've seen, I hope it doesn't ruin his chances.

The thing is, no matter how weird the setup sounds to us, even if the wife supported the decision, to the USCIS it's going to be a big bright red flag flapping in the wind. Huge.

There are 173 million people living in Nigeria. The only person that the OP's friend could room with during a delicate immigration process is a single woman? To make matters worse, the OP's friends neighbors suspect he is married to this single woman.

This is why I read VJ and will continue to read it after the immigration process is over. You couldn't write this in a script.
