Well, once again the USCIS doesn't follow their own procedures very well. Our AOS application for my wife's son is moving along but they don't seem to get things right. Her son's last name was spelled incorrectly, so we called the 800 number and they said to send a letter of explanation, which we did. I sent a letter that they acknowleded receiving on January 5, 2007 but the notice was dated January 10th. We had already signed up for email notification.

We already had the biometrics finished in December, just before Christmas. We tried to get them to acknowledge the misspelling there. They made a notification of the correct spelling then.

On Saturday we received a notice for his interview on March 14th. His name is still spelled wrong. And, of course, there is no change to his status online.

Sorry, but just wanted to vent my frustrations.

At least we are progressing forward. I'm afraid that his name will forever be misspelled because of some stupid typing error.

Don't feel bad they do this often but your not the only one it happens to. My husband's name is all wrong, too. They seemed to have left off his family name and just substituted it with his mother's maiden name. We tried to get it fixed at biometrics, I hope it works. If not I will have to send them a letter to CSC, in fact I think I will do that today. If the greencard has the name incorrectly you will have to send it back and it may take a very long time to get it replaced. What a mess, eh?
