RECIVED NVC CASE NUMBER - NOW WHAT!

HELLO VJ MEMBERS

WE CALLED THIS MORNING TO THE NVC DEPARTMENT AND WE RECEIVED OUR CASE NUMBER THIS MORNING AND I WENT ONLINE TO PAY THE FEES BUT I COULDN'T BECAUSE IT WAS ASKING FOR THE INVOICE NUMBER, WHAT IS THAT AND WHERE CAN I FIND IT AND HOW LONG SHOULD WE WAIT TILL WE CAN CONTINUE THE PROCEDURE AND WHAT IS THE FOLLOW UP.

Read the NVC Process wiki in my signature. It explains all. Its not ready yet for you to pay but you need IIN from NVC. Congratulations on getting case#.

Case Complete to Interview spreadsheet

From now on your VJ Member name will be verified. If the name you put on form to be added to spreadsheet comes up not found, you will not be added to the spreadsheet. If you don't have a timeline you will not be added to the spreadsheet.

Wait until you receive the welcome letter from NVC. It will contain all the numbers you need to log into CEAC and pay your fees. Good luck on your journey :).

Dualie, whats my time frame I'm looking before my wife is with me in the states

Well at NVC will be a good 3 to 4 months with no issues or mistakes. Don;t know what your embassy is that will also play into your wait time.

Hello VJ Members, so I got my case number and today i had called and i got the invoice number.

So i filled the DS261 choosing the agent.

I couldn't pay any fees today any reason why??

Because its not invoiced yet. Not ready. Just keep checking usually becomes available within a few days to a week of case# assignment.

I wish I could tell you for sure, but I can't. It all depends on NVC's backlog and how fast they can clear it. It depends on so many things. For myself, because I have all my docs submitted and invoices paid, if I don't get any checklists I could see a cc by end December (my 60 days ends end December). But if you factor in the Christmas holidays, I don't figure to get cc until January.

Now for you, it will be another few weeks before all your fees will be paid and your DS-260 completed and docs sent in...lets say mid December. Then you wait 60 days from the last scan date, which would put you into February (hopefully with no checklist). After that depending on your consulate, the wait could be a couple of weeks to a month for medical and interview. My totally uneducated guess would put you at sometime in March. But please remember that there are so many variables that it is really hard to know. All I can say for sure is Good Luck on your journey! :)
