My case was processed at Nebraska also and the same thing happened to me. Mines was approved Sept 23 and then got a 2nd message shipped on Oct 15. I have not received anything at all from NVC, but I have been calling them. They said they received my file on October 23, but I do not have a case number because they are behind and it could take up to 46 D A Y S to get a case number. You may want to call them and check up on your case. Maybe the Nebraska office is not doing something correctly.

Is taking about 40 to 60 days to get case#. Maybe by end of November you will have case#. I would call NVC to make sure they have at least received it. Do not sit around thinking things are moving along as you see you thought over a month ago things were sent and they weren't.

Call NVC ask have you received my petition. Of course you will know if you have a case # soon as you give them your receipt# and names. Good luck.

The quickest way to get through and avoid the busy signal is to call early in the morning, when they first open! You will stills have to wait about 20-30 minutes on hold.

I use skype credit to make US calls from home (UK) which works out a lot cheaper, not sure if this works for the NVC number (although I imagine it does) but might be worth trying if you ever need to call in the future!

Hope you get through soon and have good news!

Ah thanks, well the rate to call the US is the same as to call a MX number from my cell phone so its not that crazy but its still some money but its cheaper than skype..but thanks for the tip. nevertheless i was on hold for like 10 mins then I had to hang up, because a kid who I tutor showed up early, I'll call tomorrow early

Thanks, I'll try that, tomorrow morning luckily i am on central time and they open at 7 EST, otherwise I wouldn't be able to since I go to work at 730am.

I've read the NVC Process thread, any other tips you can share? It says simply to have me and wife's info handy as well as our USCIS receipt number, is that pretty much it?

This happened to us. You just keep pressing redial until it connects. I'm not sure anyone is available on the phones until 8am though. We are currently on hold. We had to press redial at least four times before it stopped hanging up on itself- just means they're really busy I guess!

Calling on Friday is good too. You can tweet them too @Travelgov Someone complained on Twitter a while ago about the phones, and they claimed they were not aware of the situation, but it mysteriously was fixed after that tweet. It's such a shame that they funded with tax dollars and are allowed to operate at this level of incompetence.

When I called today I was told it takes at least 35 days for them to receive approved petitions and not to phone back until after then. I'm sure that's inaccurate? 35 days- really?
