By the same token, nobody here was forced to marry a foreigner...

Right. The difference is that people married a foreigner and followed the immigration laws, as they are now, to bring their spouse to the U.S. They did not break the law as these folks did.

The other difference being you and your spouse having a legal way available to you. That's not the case for those that here illegally. If they had a way to lawfully migrate,I'd speculate they would have done that.

Most of them probably never tried to migrate here legally.

You can always marry domestic. Nobody's stopping you either.

Yes of course, but if I decide to marry a foreign national, there are laws in place that allow me to bring her here on a visa. The legal way. Same way you did it.

Let me help you out since you're having a hard time grasping the concept.

le·gal

conforming to or permitted by law or established rules

il·le·gal

not according to or authorized by law

If you still can't grasp that:

Then have the law changed. Just because you don't agree with a law is no excuse for breaking it. I know that's a hard concept for you and your man in the white house. First and foremost this is a nation of laws. I think I read that somewhere.

How do you know that? Seems to me that most of the people came because there are job opportunities here that allow them to better provide for their families than what they could ever dream of back home. That's why they come here - for the opportunity. But you focus all your anger at those looking for the opportunity rather than those providing it. The root cause is the opportunity that exists.

102 signatures!! Whoa!

By the way, can you please pay for my husband to cross the border, pay his legal fees, feed him, give him insurance and pay for us to have kids please? Since you are in an understanding mood. Sri Lanka is having problems too.

Thanks

So it's ok to break laws as long as you're doing it to provide for your family? Interesting.

Illegal immigrants don't have any means to change any laws either. This is a nation of laws indeed and it is high time that the law is seriously enforced on those that provide the magnet for the illegal migrants to come here. Those would be the employers that give them the incentive to trek north and east and west in pursuit of a better live for their families. But we dare not go after them "job creators", are we?

Well, the employers of illegal immigrants would tell you that it is. It's what they do, after all.

I'm mad at bought. That's why I started the thread about voting for politics that allow this type of stupidity. They should damage the companies that hire this illegal thugs, tighten the border, and auto deportation if they don't have a relevant application with USCIS on file for a relevant visa. We have U visas and everything else in place for people who are having problems in their country like prosecution by their government.

Illegally migrating to the U.S. because you are poor is no excuse when the U.S. has millions of poor people already who are not illegal immigrants.

Illegal migrants are not thugs. There are some thugs among them but by and large, these are not thugs but people that have never done any harm to anyone.

Illegal immigrants shouldn't have any means to change the law. In case you're new to the process, congress makes the laws. Congress is voted in by the citizens of the United States.

I do agree with you that they should go after the people that employ them. They should expand e-verify for everyone including the currently employed. If anyone is caught employing illegal immigrants, they should cut their balls off.

Well, the employers of illegal immigrants would tell you that it is. It's what they do, after all.

You love pointing to folks breaking one set of laws to justify other folks breaking another set of laws. I don't get that. There's no logic in that.

So why should they get it good and I shouldn't? What makes them better? What makes their future better than mine? What makes their child or children better than mine? What makes their spouse better than mine? What makes their hardships worse than mine? What makes their hurt, depression, anxiety, lose and suffering better than mine?

Nothing! The only difference is that their suffering is OVER while mine CONTINUES!
