I came across this list of items to bring to the interview, on another site. It seems to go way beyond what the actual instructions appear to be. Anyone planning to bring this kind of volume of stuff? The IRS documents in particular seem like a major hassle.

Show up in court early, don't wait until court date and settle it down ASAP by paying fine or getting it dismissed whatever you can do to get a court order. It takes at least a week to get into police

The fact only one regular December filer has received fingerprinting notice is quite unsettling. I used to think the biometric letter should arrive within 10 days following the NOA, doesn't look like it...

Very unsettling. I have to travel out of country urgently this weekend, I Called USCIS and was advised to do a walk in biometrics at the location close to me by the customers service rep.

Will keep you all posted!

The fact only one regular December filer has received fingerprinting notice is quite unsettling. I used to think the biometric letter should arrive within 10 days following the NOA, doesn't look like it...

I'm in exactly the same boat here. Have to travel internationally right after the New Year and I'm dying to see the notice. problem is, at least according to folks of this forum, you can't do a walk-in without the actual notice in your hand. So PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASE let us know how it went. Thanks!

Someone else could help you better but I have never heard of someone getting a yellow letter before fingerprinting has been completed. Also I've never heard of a password request in a yellow letter which makes me think it may not be a yellow letter. Again, I hope someone else can help you better. Good luck.

yeah i'v been searching around and didn't find anyone get the yellow letter before the fingerprint.

Most people get their yellow letter after biometrics, but some get it before biometrics. This happens reasonably often.

Some people never get a yellow letter at all.

Update: I attempted the walk in and did that successful today 12/25/2014.

You need a valid reason to have biometrics done early and you can attempt to get on done with your Receipt notification.

Oh, WOW! Congratulations MrsAK! So you did it with just the receipt of N-400? Don't they have to stamp on something? Normally that would be the biometric notice. And does travelling for work constitute a "valid reason"?

I'll probably do the same after the NY and I hope the Washington DC local office is as kind as yours.
