On May 4th I got an email with interview date scheduled for May 21. Interview letter came in mail on May 11.

Can anyone update my timeline please?

I had my interview at the Atlanta office yesterday.

It was set for 12:15pm but I did not get called in until 1:50pm. The interviewer was a pleasant young lady. She began by swearing me in and then informed me to take a seat. She proceeded to ask me the questions from my application. Once that was completed, she asked me the following Civic questions.

1. How long do we elect a president for?

2. What is one of the longest rivers in the U.S.

3. Who is the speaker of the house?

4. When was the declaration of Independence adopted?

5. What is the capital of your State?

6. The house of Representative has how many voting members?

She then asked me to read a sentence and to write a sentence. She also asked that I sign the front of my pictures. Once that was done she advised me that she was recommending me for approval and that I have the option to wait for the Oath letter before leaving. I informed her that I will wait for the letter. I waited for approximately 45 minutes to get the Oath letter.

My oath is scheduled for May 19, 2015 at 8:00am.

Hi Guys,

I attached my interview experience, I posted a few days late because my little daughter got sick a day after my interview, fortunately she is well and healthy now.

The interview was very smooth and faster, but, I noticed, at the Newark office if you have an appointment in the morning be prepared to spend the whole day there, otherwise if it is at the afternoon the waiting time is no longer.
My appointment was at 11:15 am, I came around 10:35; I was called at 12:50, the interviewer swore me in, asked me for my ID, green card and passport and then proceeded to review the N-400 form, asked me a few questions from the application itself, asked me if I had filed my taxes, about any arrests, convictions, traffic tickets in my past, she went over the yes/no questions one by one. I told her to update my travel info, checked my passport and wrote the dates in the form. Then the speaking, reading, and civics tests, it was very, very easy, but I was very nervous.
I signed the forms, pictures, and other sheet with a yes /no questionnaire about if I changed my mind since the interview. She gave me that sheet and the naturalization interview results, total time: around 25 minutes (1:15 pm), she sent me back to the waiting area and wait for my name to be called. I was called at 3 pm; I gave back the oath sheet, review the naturalization certificate, give up my green card and, he asked if I have another expired GC, he gave me a green envelope and asked me to send it back to the Newark office with the card, then sent me to the ceremony room, there wait about 30 minutes.

The Oath ceremony took place around 4:00 pm. More than 30 people from different countries reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, singing the National Anthem and the Oath of Allegiance to becoming a U.S. citizens.
I felt very emotional to end this immigration journey.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I attended my interview yesterday. I wanted to write down how it all went.

My interview was scheduled for 1:20 PM at 26 Federal Plaza. I arrived at 1:15 PM and "checked in". I waited until about 2:00 PM, my name was called by a gentleman of about 30 years old. We walked to his office, at which point he tells me "I made a mistake you were not next, go back to the waiting area, i will call you next" I proceeded to the waiting area and continued to wait.

At about 3:00 PM i get called again, we proceed to his office and he apologized for the misunderstanding. I honestly did not care, we are all humans, if anything i was more anxious to get it done than anything else.

He asked me to raise my right hand and swore me in. He began to go over my application almost immediately. Everything was fine, he proceeded to ask me the questions. I got 6 right back to back so he then gave me the cards to read and write.

After that he congratulated me and told me i passed. He said that the oath letter will be mailed to me and that he apologizes because it was 3:08 PM so i did not make the "pick up oath letter line" by 8 minutes. Meaning i could have received my oath letter right there and then if it was before 3PM.

I shook his hand and thanked him again before i left.

My experience was a very positive one at the 26 Federal Plaza location. I am extremely happy to know that all went well and that he was able to tell me that it was approved (actually seeing him stamp APPROVED was a very good feeling)

It is my hope that this information may help someone in the future.

I had my interview at the Atlanta office yesterday.

It was set for 12:15pm but I did not get called in until 1:50pm. The interviewer was a pleasant young lady. She began by swearing me in and then informed me to take a seat. She proceeded to ask me the questions from my application. Once that was completed, she asked me the following Civic questions.

1. How long do we elect a president for?

2. What is one of the longest rivers in the U.S.

3. Who is the speaker of the house?

4. When was the declaration of Independence adopted?

5. What is the capital of your State?

6. The house of Representative has how many voting members?

She then asked me to read a sentence and to write a sentence. She also asked that I sign the front of my pictures. Once that was done she advised me that she was recommending me for approval and that I have the option to wait for the Oath letter before leaving. I informed her that I will wait for the letter. I waited for approximately 45 minutes to get the Oath letter.

My oath is scheduled for May 19, 2015 at 8:00am.

Hello - I just posted this in the general discussion forum but was hoping to get any advice. Thank you.

I've been thrown into a pretty unfortunate and annoying situation.

I am in the midst of the naturalization process. All has gone pretty smoothly, and I am scheduled for an oath ceremony on May 29 in New York City. I have already booked flights to travel internationally in mid June - early July to visit some relatives, and it is imperative that I go because I won't be able to make a trip this long for a while. Obtaining a passport on time is possible - I have already spoken to several passport agency representatives to confirm this.

Here's the problem: last night, due to some bad judgment in retrospect, two friends and I were sitting on a bench in Central Park. We did not know that the park was closed off from 1AM. It was around 1:30AM, and a cop came and ticketed us with pink summons notices. He assured us that all we have to do is show up to court and that we'll either have the case dismissed or pay a small fine. It would not show up on our records. The issue is that now I am dealing with a "pending charge," and I am worried that this will delay my oath ceremony. From N-445 asks if since my interview, if I have been arrested, cited, charged, indicted, convicted, fined or imprisoned for breaking or violating any law or ordinance. I am going to have to check off "yes."

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? I'm just very distraught and trying to come up with solutions but failing to do so.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Show up in court early, don't wait until court date and settle it down ASAP by paying fine or getting it dismissed whatever you can do to get a court order. It takes at least a week to get into police system so make sure you call the court to see if it is available already.

You answer yes but without a court order, they will not let you go in Oath ceremony. Good luck.
