I had my marriage-based N400 interview today at Phoenix office. My experience was really pleasant. Officer asked me:

What is freedom of religion?

How many senators are there?

What is the ocean on the east side?

When must men to register for selective service?

When was the Constitution written?

Which state borders with Canada?

She asked me to read "Who is on the dollar bill?"

She asked me to write "The flag is red, blue and white."

When she went over my application, she asked to see my passport to verify dates. She asked if my spouse was accompanied with me on trips, and why not? She never asked for any documents else, I brought a whole package but she only wanted to see my passport. She then printed a lot of papers and told me to sign and verify my address info so they could mail Oath mail within 2 - 4 weeks. I saw her stamp "Approved" and write dates on my N400, and she put a sticker on my file. She gave me form N-652 with "Congratulations! We recommended your approval" marked. Now I am waiting for my online status to change. Good luck to all waiting, God bless you all.

I am glad it went well! Congrats.

CONGRATULATIONS, Nancy!!!

I received my interview today and in addition to tax returns and my marriage certificate being requested, I am being asked to provide "proof of marital union." Would that be joint bank accounts, etc.? I thought tax returns and a marriage certificate were proof enough.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thank you,

I have another question. When I submitted my N-400, I used tax transcripts which I printed from the IRS website (Form 4506). Now I am being asked for Form 1722 or original returns. When I went to the IRS website and entered Form 1722, I am being directed to Form 4506. Can you tell me what your experience was regarding transcripts if applicable?

Again, any advice would be welcome.

Thank you.

Yes tax transcripts are what you need. Uscis still uses old form but the one you printed is correct.

I brought bonafide evidences pretty much like i751, but she didn't ask for anything at all.

I had my interview yesterday!

I arrived at 12:15 with an interview at 12:45. Time to go through security and then check-in, I just waited a few minutes before I got called.

The IO in charge of my interview was really nice and friendly.

When we arrived in her office she made me swear to tell the truth etc.

Then she asked me for my passport, my GC and my ID.

And then she asked me the questions

What is freedom of religion?

How many senators are there?

What is the ocean on the west side?

When must men to register for selective service?

When was the Constitution written?

Which state borders with Canada?

She asked me to read : Who is on the dollar bill?
And then to write : Washington is on the dollar bill.

We went through the question at the end of the N400 then she made me sign and she congratulate me.
I had with me all my paperwork, tax returns, birth certificates (me and my daughters) in both languages, etc... she didnt ask for anything.

It was a really nice experience!

I really have to say, that, being on a forum like VJ, we read a few of "horror" stories, it can make us stress for nothing!

If your case is legit, if you did your homework, if you are a good resident... you should be good!
