Show up in court early, don't wait until court date and settle it down ASAP by paying fine or getting it dismissed whatever you can do to get a court order. It takes at least a week to get into police

I received a call from our local USCIS last Thursday 3/26/15 and since I was at work they left a message. They told me they just sent the oath ceremony letter out that day and it was going to be on 4/3/2015 (today).

It said to report promptly at 1:15pm so we did. They let the applicants in and called us one by one to surrender our green cards and the oath letters and took our assigned seats. While this was happening the USCIS Director was telling us how and what to do after the citizenship. What our responsibilities are as citizens. He also picked on some applicants. He is a funny man. Then they allowed the guests in. Then the Director picked on them this time. He asked them questions from the 100 questions we had to study. We were told we were allowed to take pictures at any time during the ceremony. The ceremony officially began at 2:30 pm. Watched a couple videos and listened to a few speeches. And then called us one by one again to receive our certificates. We were done in less than an hour as there were only 30 applicants.

As of today, I am now an American! american.gif

Hello everyone!

I just got back from my interview and everything went very smoothly. I was there for about an hour in total but the interview itself was quite short (a LOT of waiting). Of course i don't remember all of the test questions but they definitely asked the following:

Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?

Name 3 of the original colonies?

Who is the commander in chief? (I'm actually not sure which question it was but the answer was definitely 'the President'; you know there are several questions with that answer)

My writing test was: The people elect Congress.

My first surprise was that there was no reading portion of the test. I'm not sure if he forgot or something else but I did not mention it to him :rofl: Afterwards we went through my application but that was also super quick. At the end of the interview i got my second surprise when he told me that I would get my oath letter after a few minutes.

So, long story short, my ceremony will be on 04/17. I'm so happy about that because my parents are visiting at the moment and they will be here for the ceremony :-)

Please update my oath date :-)

Congrilation Chessyproof my interview will be this Monday hopefully i ll pass and i ll see u on April 17 at the ceremony :)
