USCIS Online Case Updates

I've read many old posts about the unreliability of USCIS online case updates. However, has this occurred to anyone recently? My husband and I mailed our AOS package on June 6th. His biometrics appointment was on July 15th. However, our I-485 still hasn't moved to "testing and interview." According to our local office processing times, they completed a May 9th case as of September 30th. We were hoping our interview would have been in October at some point. We haven't seen any action on our case since the receipt of his EAD on August 22nd.

Does anyone have any similar experience with the online case updates?
