Dear all,

I have a question here urgently. Thank you for your help in advance!

I filed the IR1 in Switzerland, now it was just appoved by USCIS, not sent to NVC yet.

But I am moving in a month back to China, because my contract in Switzerland ended with a short notice!!

Can anyone tell me what should I do? Can I change my overseas consulate to China?

Thanks so much guys! Since I have only one month left, it's really urgent!

Yes, you can switch. To do so, contact the NVC and explain the circumstances. Before paying fees and submitting paperwork, ensure that your case number begins with GUZ.

With a GUZ number, you can scan and email forms and documents to the NVC (if you do this, your case number will be changed to GZO).

Thank you Ryan! A follow up question, do you think if I choose electronic processing in China is going to be faster than having the case processed in Switzerland? Intuitively, I thought in Switzerland is shorter cauz very few people apply, but maybe EP in Guangzhou is going to be more advantageous?

Am I right that before the case completed in NVC, there is nothing to do with the consulate regarding the processing speed?

Thanks a lot!
