Excited to Go For K-1...now the process begins

Excited to finally have a visa decision between my fiance and I and we are now working on the paperwork. So I plan to keep everyone up-to-date on the process. I tried to do some research on the site, but unable to find anything recent at the moment. Maybe it is there, just haven't looked in the right place.

A few questions:

1. should you copy every page of your passport or just the main page and the page showing your entry and exit from the Philippines?

2. When it comes to proving ongoing relationship, how much do you truly need? On Facebook we have like over 37,000 messages to each other since February 22, 2014, numerous emails and calls through Facebook and Skype to each other. Really not in mood to print 1,000's of pages. So would just a day or two be good? I also help with internet cost every so often, as I want to have something stable when we talk, would it be better to show the money gram orders sent to her account be better than actual conversations? Or both?

3. We met in person in August of 2014, but will file probably at end of this month, but we will also meet again at end of December of 2014 through January 2015, would you add the flight itinerary, her buying my domestic plane tickets, etc...for the trip as part of proving ongoing relationship?

Thanks for all the help,

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.
Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

main page and entry stamps is fine.Photo`s of you and her, especially with family is VERY important.Someone with more knowledge of phils. requirements will help here but I know some embassies frown on money transfers. Itinerary for dec. visit wont hurt, once again, phils. people will help you, we sent my entry stamps(6 entries in a 2 year period) and about 20 photo`s of us AND family, her son, mother, sister etc...Not just you 2 together. we personally submitted no more evidence with our I-129-F....good luck! Also, going to the Philippine subforum here will help you with Phillipine specific questions.

Okay great! Yeah have plenty of photos of myself, her, and her family together. So I won't worry then about facebook messages and so on. Should she also write and submit her own version of how we met or is mine good enough? And filing location is the lockbox facility correct when doing the intent to marry?

all I129-F petitions are sent to the texas lockbox, she does not have to submit how you met, she will answer that at the interview, you need an I-325a signed bio. info. form from her and her letter of intent. I wrote how we met in the space provided on the form. as you have met only one time, a few facebook pages, phone or text records wont hurt...

Thanks for the information Pheebs1201 and steve n songsang, I actually looked those over several time and research some threads, which all have a been a great help. Probably the bigger thing for anyone is the anxiety that goes into preparing and waiting to file. For me, it is making sure everything is done correctly. I would hate to fill out all the paperwork, only to find out that something was missed, hence the many questions.

Take your time, read the requirements, get one or two other people to double-check your forms for typos/inaccuracies.

As far as evidence goes, photos are great (write date and location on back). Plane tickets/passport pages showing visits, some specific IM/email exchanges showing familiarity or plans to pursue a relationship/marry would probably be helpful too.

At the interview, don't stress if you haven't made wedding plans etc etc and they ask; just explain that you didn't want to make plans until you were confirmed (I don't know why they even ask this).

Welcome to the K-1 process, hurry up and wait ;)

If you are using the passport to prove US citizenship, then you need copies of ALL the pages. If you are providing another document to prove citizenship, such as a copy of your US birth certificate, then you only need a copy of the bio page and pages with passport stamps as proof of meeting in person.

Hey been there, done that in the Phils., and yes there is a little more to the Plils., K-1 than some others, especially the CFO.

But, "Home page".,.,.,.Guides, and the first thing you see is file K-1, get your information here. You must have met face to face in the last two years, and both are free to marry.,.,that is it. Prepare your K-1..,.,..,.then read it word for word five times, use a cover letter, and tell in a table on contents what the contents are, and a signed 325-a and a hand written letter of intent to marry within 90 days is a must.,.,.,.,and how you met is also nice, with that intent letter.

The guides Site, tells you everything you need to do!

Do not worry about the CFO.,.,.,.,.,YOU are along way from that, from now!

We will help you!

Thanks! When you say hand written intent to marry letter, are you saying that the typed written letter that is signed by both are not recommended for Philippines? Also photographs is it okay to place the 15 or so photographs in a doc file over a couple of pages or is it better to make actual photographs of each photo?

So I do not send them the I-134 at all, only give the I-134 to my fiance when she goes for her interview?

Thanks for all the help,

1) If you, USC, are using your passport as evidence of your citizenship you need to make a copy of every page, if you are only using your passport as evidence of meeting in person then copy the BIO page and the stamp pages.

2) Evidence of an ongoing relationship is for later, not during the I-129F petition, so you don't need to include any pages of your chats. Keep those for when at the embassy in Manila.

3) You need evidence of having met in person WITHIN the passed two years, anything you have showing that you two were together then is good, and for sure a few pictures.

For the I-129F petition process follow the GUIDE here on VJ. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

Later pop over to the Philippines forum, good group of people there to assist with the process in Manila

hank`s advice is,as usual, spot on. I don't know what service center will handle your petition but you are looking at probably 2-6 months before approval, once approved you can do the I-134 which will require your 2014 taxes.
