This is me venting and maybe providing some information that might be helpful to someone else. Yes I know that the USTraveldocs.com site has it's own support people but I am also intimately familiar with the fact that they aren't helpful when it comes to this issue. So I'm posting to find out what other VJ members have done in this situation

After my fiancé's interview on 11/6, he was told to register on the UStraveldocs.com site for the IV Address Registration. Haiti just started using this site and we are one of the lucky ones to go through first. I would have much rather been one of the unfortunate ones to use the old system (I jest). Anyway, I logged on to the site to complete the IV Address Registration, and much to my dismay found that the K-1 visa option was not listed. Long story short, I put in a complaint with the UStraveldocs help desk and they were suppose to get back to me in two business days. Since that time I've spend hours on the phone with them trying to figure out how we can pick up his passport (The CEAC said Issued on 11/10) and all they can say is "You have a ticket. You must wait for them to contact you. Have patience. There's nothing we can do." Today I spoke to a supervisor who told me that the Haitian Embassy has to approve their request to update the site. Which means that for the last 10 days they haven't done anything to resolve the issue and if you've ever contacted the embassy you know it takes FOREVER for them to respond so I have little hope that they'll have it fixed for us to register correctly and get him here for Thanksgiving.

Now for a small ray of hope... I have looked and looked on here for any mention of this issue and I found two. One said that this isn't the place to ask about this issue and the other said that after hours of contacting the UStraveldocs folks someone told them to pick a different visa type and that would be fine as long as it said spouse - and it was! So I'm going to try that and pray that it works. One of my VJ Haitian friends took this advice and he registered using it, printed the confirmation page, and was able to pick up his visa today. My fiancé is going to try on Monday so wish us luck and I'll post how it goes. So if you're going through this too, please know that you aren't alone and that maybe there's a way around this problem that doesn't involve more waiting.

I gave this advice to Venchy on

11/08 and her fiance was able tp

Get passport today. I used this

Myself. I chose the CR-1 visa type. Once done, i Printed the transaction confirmation. Then typed K1 in a separate document, printed it. Cut the K1 wording out of that document, taped that over CR-1 then scanned and printed the transaction confirmation. Viola! Lol. It is illogical as to why they don't have K-1 listed.

I'm at a different embassy altogther, but just want to say that i sympathize with you regarding the incompetence of ustraveldocs.com support team. I've been fighting with them since Nov 1 because I haven't been able to schedule an interview appointment online due to a system error, and they refuse to believe it. Hours spent on the phone, hung up on several times, told I didn't really have an issue, etc. My "escalations" have never been solved, and I'm so frustrated that I don't know what to do. I would really really love to file a formal complaint.

Question for you, were you able to track your passport with the CR-1 option chosen? Mine says that it doesn't have a status for that passport. But it's the number we used for the DS-160, the IV Address Registration, and every other piece of paperwork we needed in this process. I'll have my fiance try your way on Monday so hopefully it will be set. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It means the world to me!!

The place I submitted my complaint to was support-Haiti@ustraveldocs.com - I'd bet if you changed the Haiti part to your country you'd be able to email them. If you have names of agents and times that usually makes your case stronger. And if you can include screen shots of why you can't register that's normally helpful too. Then they should email you back a case number and anytime you call I'd bet they have access to see that case and hopefully the screenshots which could solve the problem. I also emailed my Senators to let them know what's going on so you could try that as well, can't hurt. - Good luck!

I am able to track my fiances passport because he had to submit the transaction confirmation with his packet 3 to Haiti Messenger. They wouldn't take packet 3 without the printed transaction confirmation. I didn't want the "CR1" to cause an issue for his interview so that's why I did what I did. Ask Venchy how'd my advice work for her because her fiance has his passport now and they were having the same issue.

I am having the same issue. However, we have done all of his visa stuff through ustraveldocs.com (DS-160, scheduling the interview).

When I called the person I spoke to said we are already registered for the passport to be sent to Haiti Messager. On my fiance's appt. confirmation letter that we printed it has "document delivery infomation" on it which is where the in of Haiti Message is.

I was told to just bring the appointment confirmation page with id and he should get his passport. I am a little nervous though.

What exactly did people choose that worked to pick up their passport.

Or do we just wait and see?

Thanks!
