Hello all,

I have been waiting several months to get a notice in the mail for my wife's interview appointment. We already received the AP and EAD on the 20th of October, but no sign of the interview appointment notice. I finally decided to go online and check the case status and found out that it should have arrived by last week on the 7th of November. USCIS suggested I send an e-request case inquiry about non-delivery of a notice by mail so I just did that. USCIS states that they will get back to me by the 6th of December. I have a feeling that if the interview date has already been set and we never got the notice in the mail, and we wait until the 6th to learn more about what happened, we might miss the interview!

What can I do to get a quicker confirmation about the interview appointment and the notice that supposedly was to have arrived?

Thank you very much!

Am I correct that you have been following your case online?

If there is an interview date set your online status will state the date and that they have sent a letter. Have you got the set date for the interview? The letter says the date too but you would already know that from checking online. The letter tells you the location, time and what to bring.

If you haven't received notice that your appointment has been scheduled they won't have sent you anything new...

If not keep waiting, the scheduling all depends on the local field office and how backed up they are, there is nothing to say they should send you an interview date by a certain date/time... Some people get scheduled quickly and others (like me) sat in the waiting for an interview to be scheduled for roughly 110 days...

If you don't have an interview date set, that "if you don't receive a notice by" part of your status is an inaccurate fluke that came with the new system update. Mine says I was meant to have a letter by November 5th, but in all reality I know that my interview will probably not be scheduled until late December, with an interview date sometime in January or early Feb.

You won't miss the interview. When you actually get scheduled, your status will update again with the actual interview date.

Thanks, so just to clarify:

"As of October 8, 2014, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSC**********, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your interview notice by November 7, 2014, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

The same page that shows this "fluke" message should update and tell me an actual interview date when it is actually scheduled?

Thanks so much for the feedback, I really hope the interview happens before February (from what I had calculated I thought it was going to be in mid-December...)

Best,

Yes - and if you are signed up for email notifications, you should get one of those when the page updates. Mine says the exact same thing right now and I do not have an interview scheduled. I've called. It's a new system thing.
