I would like to know what is the next step after biometrics to get a temporary resident card and is there an interview? I heard some people get their temporary card without interview. Is it true?

After your biometrics are done, you will receive a letter giving you an interview date and the place where you should go for the interview.

In some cases, AOS applications are sent to CSC and are approved without an interview. But, most people do have an interview to go to.

Most cases will require interview.

You shoukld be receiving an Interview notice with Interview date and location of your interview

which will take place anywhere between 30-45 days after receiving interview notice.

The interview is nothing but a formality to confirm the legitimacy of your relationship. It usually last no more than 15-30 minutes. They verify your information submitted, look at any supporting documents you have

Jopint bills, lease ect..

and may ask a few questions to provide evidence of your relationship.

Basically your next step is waiting. Like ray said, some people get their AOS cases transferred to the california service center and are subsequently approved without an interview but others have their cases processed at their local offices and are required to come for an interview. As of yet we haven't really figured out why some go to CSC and others don't. It could be weeks, months, or years till you get approved (always hoping it's the shorter amount) so waiting is your best bet If you really want things to do you could always research on VJ about what to bring to an interview and have all that prepared (or be aware of it at least) in the event you do get an interview.
