Hey folks,

I have a question for those of you dealing with the US embassy in Islamabad. How long did it take for them to contact you after NVC has sent them your file? It has been about 2 weeks and i have not heard a thing... Just curious to see how long it took for others.

Why would they contact you, since nvc has given you an interview date. You just complete your medical and go to embassy on your interview date. I don't see any reason for us embassy islamabad to contact you,other than if they want to move your date, which is very rare.

Our experience was we received an e-mail with the packet of documents we needed to take to the interview.

K-1 I-129F Sent : 2012-04-30

I-129F NOA1 : 2012-05-03

I-129F RFE(s) :NONE!!! Praise GOD!!

I-129F NOA2 : 2012-11-07

NVC Received : 2012-11-13

NVC Left : 2012-11-28

Consulate Received : 2012-12-03

Packet 3 Received : 2012-12-05

Packet 3 Sent : 2012-12-15

Packet 4 Received : 2012-12-20

Interview Date : 2013-01-18

Interview Result : Administrative Review

2013-11-20 Embassy requested new medical, pictures and DS160.2014-02-24 Fingerprints and Oath (But was told AP was still in place).Ceac Status:2014-03-06 Creation date changed and also changed from immigrant to non-immigrant.2014-04-08 and 2014-04-11

For my k3 i got email within a week for packet 3.5. After sending packet 3.5 its around month and no interview date yet.

OP is talking about k1 visa and your are talking about CR1 visa. In K1/K3 we have to send documents (Packet 3.0/3.5) to embassy instead of NVC and then embassy schedule an interview.

For CR1 we send documents IV packet to NVC and NVC schedule interview.

WOW man, a month and no interview date yet? Im trying to plan my wedding and trying to set dates but I dont know when she will have the visa...
