just recently became aware that i have a daughter that was born in may. the mother and i were not together at the time so i was not there to admit to paternity of the child. does anyone know the documents i need to file to basically claim that i know she is my daughter and take responsibility for her. and to get her and the mother here. i know that i need to file a crba but was told i need to do other paperwork before i file the crba. was also told the only way to do this is going back to the philippines.

You might want to consider doing DNA test first (you will probaly need later for the consulate anyway). After that you will somehow legally aknowledge paternity. This either comes through court amendment or marriage (it will all depend on the laws of the country you are marrying in). After that, you can go forward with CRBA if you fullfill the requirements.

It's amazing how many questions can be resolved with a 2 minute Google search...
