To make sure that the tiles are not resting directly on the tub, it creates a shelf. Then you go back, remove the wood when the upper stuff is dry and tape the bottom row of tiles up flush.

People do it different ways.

All you had to say was a starter strip of wood lol

apparently singapore is the place to go for an exciting and cool expat life?

yes. Folk from UK, USA, OZ, and sometimes Germany come in, have an exciting and cool expat life there.

I've done it, as well, for a year. Would i go back? no, not really, I'm not in that phase anymore. But I'd jump to be in KL for 2 or 3 years.

Well, maybe you shouldn't have called him useless when he didn't know how to fix the leak.....

You have to get out the plastic insert and you should be able to see the origins of the leak.

The plumber is going to have to do this or cut a hole in the wall from behind. You'll save yourself some money by doing it beforehand even if you are calling them out.

apparently singapore is the place to go for an exciting and cool expat life?

For a good two dozen of my friends and family from the UK it is.

Many are taking teaching jobs in private English schools there and for some families moving from the UK it's amazing.

One of my best friends just moved over with her family - the school which hired her headhunted in the UK for teachers from private schools - their little boy gets free full time education at the school she teaches at. They have an amazing apartment with a wonderful pool. At least four other families she was close to have all moved in the last year so they have their own little community already set up.

They all rave about low crime rates etc. And they do a lot of travelling around the region while they are posted there which is giving their kids some amazing experiences.

I called it an expat life because it tends to be that rather than actually emigrating. Like a posting for 4-5 years.

And the standard of education in the schools my friends' kids are going to is fantastic - maths and foreign languages particularly.
