He knows how to do it all, but his threshold of doing it is higher than mine. I left everything for about a week to see if he'd do it and the morning I finally got totally fed up, was apparently the morning he was going to do it all. It was a little experiment from me, to see what he could deal with vs me.

I just have to ask if i want him to do something and he generally does it right away.

But I grew up not asking for anything so it's a hard thing to over come and my issue, not his.

My wife's threshold for when things need doing is also higher than mine, although mine was never low. She's just very picky about how clean things are kept. I could wait her out easily. When she was first here, she did it all and would tell me to go sit down if I tried to help. She wasn't working, and wanted to feel she was contributing to the household. Once she started working, she was never shy about letting me know what my duties were, including be the official rice cooker. I'm also the secret American food maker for her potlucks at work, they love her deviled eggs
