But the traditional women who claim to make good wife, have other plans up their sleeves.

It is funny to me, at least, because their ideas of traditional wives are based in the very recent past. Women of yore had to work their asses off and were kind of intimidating/scary.

It is also kind of amusing because a lot of men would appreciate a woman who worked, even my husband who is a traditionalist wouldn't mind. Then again, he totally wasn't after a glorified sex doll and indentured servant.
