Eric Garner (September 15, 1970 – July 17, 2014) had been employed as a horticulturist at the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.^[22] Garner was a 350-pound (160 kg), 43-year-old, 6'3" (1.91 m) tall, African American man.^[9][10] He has been described by his friends as a "neighborhood peacemaker" and as a generous, congenial person.^[15] He had six children.^[11] Garner had been previously arrested and was out on bail for selling untaxed cigarettes, driving without a license, marijuana possession, and false personation. Garner had a criminal record that includes more than 30 arrests dating back to 1980 on charges such as assault, resisting arrest, grand larceny. An official said the charges include multiple incidents in which he was arrested for selling unlicensed cigarettes.^[23][24][25]

Sounds like a tax protester to me, and upright NRA member. Cops just don't like tax protesters and people who want to use their 2nd amendment rights to carry a gun.

This victim, was truly innocent of any wrong doing.

I actually have heard of that case. And numerous others where totally innocent people have been killed by the police. I've no idea why the national media always wants to pick up on the cases where the dead guy is a thug, maybe they just want to create the outrage and drama that comes when some say the police shouldn't shoot unarmed nonthreatening people regardless of their past, and the other side saying he's a thug, he deserved it. No drama to create in the case where a totally innocent person minding his own business and gets shot.

There was another recent case, from down in some southern state. Two police pick up a black female for failure to pay parking tickets. She actually had a payment plan worked out with the city and was making payments. They bring her in, then proceed to beat the ####### out of her, lock her in a detox cell without the lights on for an hour, then perform a strip search on her. All caught on the police office cameras. the grand jury refused to indict the police. But at least the city had the good sense to fire the two cops. I have no idea why they decided to arrest and bring a person in who was making payments on unpaid parking tickets, but this type of thing seems a pretty big waste of tax payer money. She owed a $100 yet, I'm sure it cost more than that to drag her butt in, and seriously why even do so if she'd been paying, and why beat her azz? Well she probably lipped off, but that still doesn't give cops the right to beat the carp outa someone.
