The reason I was asking ? Well, I phoned my ex-fiance, and after distracting him from launching into an explanation of his latest mission to Pluto, or wherever, I managed to get him to talk about the first landing on the moon by the Americans. It was at this time he realised humans weren't the centre of the universe, and the reason he went on to study philosophy at uni. I was born a lot later, and not in the States, so I was trying to imagine what impact that had on his psyche, and trying to look for an answer to his delusional mental state. He talks about the Cold War a lot, and in reality was sent to Haiti during Dr something or others reign. All really fascinating. In the UK we don't study much American history, apart from the revolution against Britain, so trying to catch up.

Nah you're ex-fiance is just whacked on his own. Maybe he watched too much Outer Limits.

Was talking to my daughter the other day. Turns out my ex's live in bf is a total whack job. Which probably matches up with the ex pretty well, as she was getting more and more into every things a conspiracy #######.

That's what you get for not tipping your barista

peppermint mocha sounds just nasty. Why couldn't you just open the door and spit out? Going to fast already?

Crazy busy road/parking lot and the car was moving, so I wished I could have done that.

And apparently you needed to spit it out fast. Back in the day when McDonalds had scalding hot coffee, I had to do a similar thing. I took too big a swig and needed to get it out before it scalded even more of my mouth. Spit it all over the dash and windshield though.

In the diner now warming up. Below zero windchills man.....

This has been a trip where mother nature has not been kind...

Maybe time to wrap up and go home?

The animals will also be hiding or hibernating in this harsh temperature.

In the winter time, in Minnesota, in the 70's? Just wish I had the smarts to sue them like someone did in the 80's.

The deer will move around, not the bear. But I think I'm gonna go home later.

This has been a terrible year weather wise. Doesn't look like I'm going fishing either....

You can go ice fishing up here soon. The lakes and rivers have begun to freeze over.

Are the lakes frozen thick enough up there already? Here the big lakes aren't even frozen over yet, let alone thick enough to go on.

I don't think we've seen above zero windchills in days here. But they're talking upper 30's this weekend. Heat wave, si man

No not yet, but I doubt it is that far off.

The lakes are beginning to freeze, but they seldom freeze 4 inches here.

When I was a kid, I remember lakes freezing over and ice skating on them and people bringing cars out. By the 2000s, they stopped freezing thick enough to walk on in NY. It was weird.
