Making a mess is nothing in the name of building learning skills. And learning to love to learn.

my point is, they are not mutually exclusive. cleaning up teaches good habits too. you can do both.

7 minutes and 30 seconds till i am off work. 7 minutes and 28 seconds now...

My daughter was begging for a desk in her room to do her homework so her dad rearranged her room (with some input from me) to make sure she could have a desk. Now she likes doing her homework and has a quiet place to work vs the kitchen table.

I was never forced to be tidy as a teenager in my own bedroom, even though I knew how to be. It was just how I was and trust me when I learned in college with roommates that no one likes a mess. Even in my early 20's I'd have a messy room until I had a dresser and hangers. Now I like my room to be neat (even if the bed is rarely made) and the rest of the house to be tidy too. But I'm not insanely cleaning the floor everyday or vacuuming.

I think kids need their own sanctuary and their room becomes that. As long as nothing is growing or smells, the mess stays IN the room, and it gets tidied up for company then it doesn't matter. I just close the door, like my mom did for me. :)

What did you wear in Canada? Canadian tire jeans?

Ones that fit :P

It's been a few years since I've worn jeans. I don't know what they were.
