I don't really remember our first date either. We had gone out several times with other people then just started dating. We officially started dating on Valentine's Day 2003. He had to work so I went over to the restaurant he was working at and told him I was ready to move on with the relationship. He was really busy so he just said, "ok, we'll talk later." It was about as unromantic as you can get.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

Aww. Cute stories. Melissa - your story made me smile actually. When Stewart was a camp counselor he had like...NO money...so our dates were often like the one you described...sodas :)

First date stories are cool :)

After talking for a couple of months online, we met in Miami, FL.

After leaving our bags at the hotel, we just went out to walk, we sat at a lil cuban cafe (cant even remember the name). It was the first time we met, but it felt so natural to walk hand in hand. Our conversation was flowing so naturally as if we had known each other for ever. After many hours talking we walked back to the hotel... the rest is also unmentionable...:whistle:

That was October 20th, 2004...

 This isn't nostalgic or romantic.........just scary!

the point i was making is unless one knows guns quite well, one can't just look at a rifle and name it a semi auto ;)

:yes: One can if one is a girly girl. Wuddever its a big scary gun, and would totally ruin a first date! Even more scary .........the camel!

Rey took me on this tour of his city. We had met in Rio where he worked but I had to go to São Paulo for a month and so on my first day he made me get up at 8 am on a Sunday (grr) and check out all the cool stuff in the city. It was very romantic, except I didn't know I was on a date. I even thought at one point he had hinted for me to back off. Actually, he was trying to express interest. In fact, it would have been the perfect first date if I had known I was on one!

I first met my husband in 2001 as a friend of a friend. Until April of 2003, we would randomly see one another at parties or at some friend's house- but that was it. :)

We sat outside with a bunch of friends and he sat across the table from me and we started talking. It was the first time we really talked to one another - and that was when we fell in love. Both at the same time.

And it was also when he told me that he was going back to the US for good, after having lived in Germany for 2 years.

He left before we even had the chance to hug or kiss- we stayed in touch though, for the next 3 months all the "dates" we had were online or on the phone.

So I guess our first official "date" would be the morning after I arrived in Seattle to visit him for the very first time, we walked down to the beach and had a coffee and breakfast at Starbucks.

short history:

2001 - met in Germany

April 2003 - fell in love

Aug 2004 - go to the US for internship

Feb 2005 - both return to Germany

Aug 2006 - getting married

he got up the nerve to ask me out on text message, though we had just hung out the night before. walked to the movies and watched Mask Of Zorro 2. In Israel there are intermissions in the movie, so we had the most awkward moments ever. but conversation there and back was fun and easy, and i liked walking.

didnt hold hands the entire time. he wasnt sure how religious i was, and didnt want to offend me.

when we got back to my trailer (yes i was living in a trailer... stupid school) he went to hug me goodnight and i kissed him. so much for being a nice religious girl. that was it though. weve been serious since then

Claudeth came to my birthday party in Iligan. I was making my speciality, spaghetti! Unfortunately she wasn't able to stay for dinner but I was completely overwhelmed with her and two days later we were in Cagayan and then Camiguin. That was just about the best time of my life!

I guess our first 'date' was him taking me out for Chinese food the weekend after I got there. It was a little strange to go to this very ornamental Chinese place where everything was ordered in Dutch. We also went out for Valentines day, but had a hell of a time finding a place that was open. Finally his mom found a Greek restaurant and they were giving out flowers.

We met on the last day of the Tour de France in 2005 where he works in Paris. Went out dancing at Queen on the Champs Elysees after his bar closed, until 7:00 a.m., did the same thing the following night, the rest is history!

I know just what you mean about Chinese places in Holland, it really threw me trying to figure out what was on the menu as I was with a bunch of friends and we didn't know much Dutch. The only thing that saved us was one of my friend teaches Chinese at a University here. He finally managed to get the Dutch waiter to bring a menu written in Chinese. :)

We had talked online and on msn chat for a couple of months, and then he drove up to see me in person on March 28, 2003.

When I opened the door and saw him standing there, I knew he was "the one". We spent the evening drinking wine, talking, and finally, after waiting for several hours for him to kiss me (he was being polite and didn't), I leaned over and kissed him. The rest is history!!!!!!!

A few weekends later he took me to Whistler Mountain (British Columbia, Canada) for my birthday and presented me with a beautiful diamond "pre-engagement" ring to say that he wanted us to be commited to each, get to know each other even better and see what the future brought. But I really wasn't sure when I opened it what the ring meant and was too afraid to ask. I just waited until he explained. The best weekend I have ever had in my whole life!!!!
