I've read a little about Job Corp and I've gone onto their website. It seems like they have some good services for no cost at all. Of course, things look good on paper, but I wanted to hear if anyone has actually tried Job Corp and can share your experience. Is it something good for new immigrants? What is the atmosphere like? I'm concerned that it might be like a juvenile detention (which is probably not true) but I would just like to hear what people have experienced. Thanks.

The only experience I have concerning JobCorp is just as you said.. kinda a juviehall situation. I have a friend whos grandson... high school drop out.. low income bad home life... went tru job corp... now has GED and is being trained as a painter apprentice. He has food housing clothing.. and they give him allowance of his money he earns.. They instill savings. From what I have heard it is a fantastic training for those that are frustrated or unable to learn from conventional education. Good program to keep them in the right direction... but yes alot of hard core kids there.

Love isn't love unless it is expressed;

caring isn't caring unless the other person knows;

sharing isn't sharing unless the other person is included
