Hi! I'm new here.

Looking for people to relate with during this crazy process. This hurry up and wait is killing me...

Our I-130 was recently expedited with USCIS and our case was just received by the NVC. Yesterday we submitted our expedite request with the NVC. Does anyone have experience with this? I've been told they will forward the expedite request to the consulate in Egypt and am wondering if anyone knows how timely they are at responding. Is there an area here that is more appropriate for posting my questions regarding expediting with the NVC?

10/11/2014 – Mailed I-130 packet to the Chicago Lockbox
10/14/2014 – I-130 packet signed for
10/15/2014 – Priority date assigned
10/19/2014 – Acceptance confirmation email received
10/20/2014 – Check cashed
10/24/2014 – Received I-797C (NOA1)
10/27/2014 – Faxed the USCIS expedite packet to the Senator's office
10/29/2014 – Expedite request sent to USCIS from the Senator's office on my behalf
11/05/2014 – USCIS approved I-130 petition
11/07/2014 – USCIS sent case to the NVC for processing
11/08/2014 – Received I-797, Approval!!! (NOA2)

I called the NVC, found out what information they needed, added the additional information to the expedite packet I had submitted to USCIS and handed the information over to my senators office who then requested the expedit on our behalf.

I feel like I am going crazy waiting for a response. It's been a week since the request was sent by the senators office and still no word. I have called the NVC every business day since submitting it hoping for confirmation that they received the request, but until our case is actually in the system they cannot confirm they received the it. Expedite with the NVC is very different from USCIS. At least USCIS was kind enough to let us know the request had been received and to expect a decision regarding our case within 21 days.
