Hi everyone!!! Our case was received by NVC on December 1st...I wonder when would I get our case number? Should I keep calling them?! Help please..

Hi everyone!!! Our case was received by NVC on December 1st...I wonder when would I get our case number? Should I keep calling them?! Help please..

They are currently quoting 42 days to get a case number assigned. From what I have seen recently, the average is actually 28 days +/- a couple days. The most recent case numbers I have seen assigned, the cases were received by the NVC the first week of November and the case numbers were assigned the first week of December. My case was received the second week of December and still no case number, last time I called was Monday evening. I'm hopeful we'll get it this week.

You can call as frequently as you'd like, but based on what I have seen, you'd be better off waiting until after the third week before you start calling. Save yourself the headache of having to redial 50+ times before you break through the busy signal and save yourself the time of sitting on hold for 30 minutes to an hour each time, just to be told it can take up to 42 days.

The most recent case numbers I have seen assigned, the cases were received by the NVC the first week of November and the case numbers were assigned the first week of December. My case was received the second week of December and still no case number, last time I called was Monday evening. I'm hopeful we'll get it this week.

NVC received my case on November 12th, and I called tonight, was on hold for exactly 59 minutes. And once I got through, I got the case number! Took exactly 28 days today to get it. I had a feeling I was going to get it today, and I was right :) I forgot to ask for the invoice number though so my husband wasn't able to login to complete the form and we haven't paid the AOS fee yet. Will NVC send us the welcome letter tomorrow? I tried to call back tonight to get the invoice # but they were no longer accepting calls at that point. My husband will try calling again later to get that. How soon were you guys able to send the aos and IV package after receiving your case numbers? I am hoping to be able to send it Saturday or Monday... would love a scan date before the holidays!

How long would it take before you get scan date?? I guess you can send AOS and IV package few days after you pay the fees.

I've seen others have scan date few days after they send the package. So hoping before Christmas :) Fingers crossed we can pay the fees tomorrow!

I also got my case number yesterday, but mine came in a welcome letter. Based on what my case number is, it looks as though my case number was actually assigned on the 9th. If your case number was just assigned yesterday, then you could possible expect a welcome letter today.

I logged on and completed the DS-261 immediately, but the AOS fee had not been invoiced yet so I could not pay it. Hopefully soon. Good luck to you!

I've received case number and invoice number, and I received the NVC welcome letter a few hours ago. But I still can't pay the fees yet, how long does it usually take before you can pay the fees? :(

I've received case number and invoice number, and I received the NVC welcome letter a few hours ago. But I still can't pay the fees yet, how long does it usually take before you can pay the fees? :(

We got our case number yesterday and immediately completed the DS-261. We received the AOS invoice today. I called to see when we can pay the AOS fee and was advised that it can take a couple of days for it to unlock from the time the invoice is received.

Update: I was able to pay the AOS fee yesterday, I expect it to probably show up as "PAID" Monday or Tuesday. And I am going to send both packages immediately! I can do that, right? I heard that the IV fee might take a while to be invoiced and to go ahead and send both packages after AOS fee shows up as PAID. Your experiences?
