I noticed no one commented on the possibility of Bush being impeached rather than completing term (my analysis is as close to neutral as I could get; Pelosi does have motivation to try it).

I'd support it. I've seen more and more 'Impeach Bush' bumper stickers on cars lately too. Strangely, a lot of those 'W' and 'Bush / Cheney' stickers seem to have fallen/worn off lately as well.

Actually I think it's irrelevant at this point. A lot of Americans have lost sight of the enemy (they think it's Bush) and the Dems will get the Presidency in 2008. The war with Extremist Muslims will continue, and it's only a matter of time before they attack on US soil again. Then I suppose the Dems will still blame Bush, but then it will be a somewhat harder sell to the public and the Dems will need to come up with their own plan or they will get voted out too.

I'd rather fight them in Iraq then on US soil.

Which is to say you rather see Iraqi civilian casualties than US civilian casualties in a war (supposedly you're referring to the ole' war on terrorism) that involves Iraq for only one reason: Bush chose to get it involved. It's a great message to send to the widows and orphants of Iraq and it's sure to make us a lot of friends. Which is what this was supposedly all about: Winning the hearts and minds of the Iraqis. Remember: The flowers that our troops would be greeted with? Those flowers sort of keep blowing up on us. Quite literally...

Are you sure the Dems will win in 2008? They (we) couldn't beat Bush in 2004 and it's not like he was doing a good job then. I think it all depends on who gets the nominations on each side. Only time will tell...

I think you were right before because there is a lot of pissed off republicans now. It is interesting to listen to talk radio now and hear how some former Bush supporters just tear into him. They call him the same names I hear on Air America.

I would have to wonder what the point would be exactly- revenge for Clinton's impeachment? Impeachment hearings in this case would drag out much longer because the evidence is not so cut and dry and much of it is classified anyway. By the time it would be over he'd be out of office anyway, and if not, Cheney would pardon him.

It might have the affect of turning more people off to Republicans but right now I don't think that's necassary either. Looking at the Republican front runners, I'm guessing pure apathy will keep a lot of the base away from the polls and get Clinton elected anyway.

Just be aware that actions have consequences, sometimes unintended.

Like the mis-management of the war, culminating in the recent election result?

I'm sure our enemies appreciate your support

Someday I hope you'll drop that tired red herring. You're either with "him" or with "them" right? Must be comforting for you that these things can be boiled down to binary opposition ;)

So, you think opposition to the war in Iraq does not encourage the enemy. OK great.

As a free democracy we allow dissent and protest to the government's policies and actions, but don't fool yourself into thinking this does not encourage our enemies in this war.

I don't for one second believe that my support of the President or the war in Iraq has no consequences. I'm sure such support makes our enemies hate us even more. That's fine, they already want to kill us, and this started long before Bush. I'd rather fight them in Iraq then on US soil.

So, when majority of people in the UK didn't support their government's involvement in the Iraq War, this created specific embolden-ness in "the enemy"? Please point to specific examples.

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

They say NY never sleeps. São Paulo has parts that doesn't sleep either, but Rio DIES in the evening, what a creepy place to live...

So, the enemies will strike now surely because you don't support your president and his wacky policies on a useless war?

Edit: messed up pronouns...

Every war has civilian casualties, and you're forgetting the casualties of Saddam's war against his own people.

You could probably make your same arguments for the war against Nazi Germany.

But there would be no Iraqi civilian or US soldier casualties if there was no war in Iraq.

Wasn't the attack on Pearl Harbor the event that got the US involved in WW II? In comparison to the current war in Iraq, I don't remember them attacking us. Bush went in under the pretense that Iraq had WMD's and 9/11 involvement and he did so without the approval of the UN and had mild allied support. If there was actually a basis for the 9/11 involvement or WMD's found it would be one thing. Instead we (the US in general) just look like the superpower bully.
