I don't have a problem with that. I just think rape should be its own island. You can't talk about respect and behavior then tie rape into it at the beginning or the end. Because no matter how you say it, all they will hear is it's your fault somehow. That's victim blaming.

Not when the victims were the guys and it was proven.

The false report of rape part of the speech was just a few words in the middle of a very good speech, that actually called men out for the way they treated women, and warned the girls about it. Like so many media articles it was twisted.

Problem is, this isn't a room full of guys. These are women, I'd wager more than a few might have been sexually assaulted, you know, for real.

His comment wasn't appropriate because telling women how to avoid being raped after the fact is a bit tasteless in my opinion. Considering there is no sure fire way to prevent it outside of cutting off all contact with human beings. Most are raped by family members, friends, and even boyfriends. Those who they didn't suspect, those who don't look like the "type".

Oh I know. I just think when rape is brought up, this is a separate conversation to have. It shouldn't be tied into it since most women who are raped don't fall into this category.

As for the side chick issue, this wouldn't be an issue if some women would ask basic questions and paid attention more. This also applies to dudes who are side pieces. Same rules apply. If I need to list them here, let me know.
