How much money you guys think we should take for each one of us when we go to Ireland?

We're probably staying there for 7 days/6 nights and I have no idea how much spending money we should take... the flights+holtel are taken care of. But I don't want to get there and realize we should've saved more....

Any tips??

$5k each should allow you to have a comfortable vacation

Yeah that's what I thought......

We actually talked about it and thought we'd save up about 12 hundred...6 for him and 6 for me. I think that's good enough.

But I don't know.... I really don't like to find out I was wrong so I figured I should ask. This seems to be the perfect place to ask these kind of questions anyway!

Have you done any research into the things you want to do there? Maybe look them up on the 'net and get some prices (if that's possible)...restaurants and such...the price of cabbies or whatever mode of transportation you plan on using.

Good grief, where does one get $5k each for a trip? O_o That's an awful lot!

I would look into discounts that you might get for package tours, if you're willing to consider it, and through other groups as a note. You can often get discounted rates that way.

LOL.... I know you were..... that's why I said we were actually thinking about taking 600 each, not counting hotel and flights!

I read somewhere once that you should always expect to spend from 60 to 80 dollars a day each... so I think we'll be taking 100 dollars a day each just to be safe. Plus, we always have credit cards too if something unexpected happens!

Thanks for the idea! We're actually going there to go to a concert (and see each other of course!!!). We're probably gonna go to some bars, pubs but nothing too fancy.... (unless he surprises me.... Hint Hint). And of couse, act like tourists!

A word of caution about credit cards: consider what you're paying for on them, and then tack on an extra 20%. Would you buy that souvenir if it were 20% more costly? How about that hotel room?

Credit cards are convenient but they're also pretty dangerous if you can't pay them off right away.

Yeah we have that in mind..... but it's always good to have them with you for emergencies like MarilynP said! Thanks for the advice though!!

And well.... I already told my family that they won't be seeing too many souvenirs Only cheap cool stuff like coasters from cool bars, post cards and stuff like that! And if there's money left the always cool "My sister went to Ireland and all I got was this lousy shirt"
