My husband and I received our AOS interview letter in the mail on Friday!! We go in on March 20th. We are just so excited to finally be at this point in our journey. I'll be asking for all your prayers and good vibes as the date draws nearer.

as for you taxes, you can file your taxes as married filing separate and this way you would not have to wait on his SSN

I'm almost 100% sure that even if you do married filing seperate the spouses SSN# is still needed ... on the other hand you don't 'have' to wait .. you can fill out form W7 to get an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) for the spouse or dependants without a SSN# and attatch it to your return .. You can't e-file though .. you have to send it in the mail ... The IRS was really helpful on the phone answering questions for us.

We filled out our tax form and a W-7 and brought our id to the nearest IRS help center. They were very helpful, verified the identification (passport) that I brought with me and sent in the tax form for us.I still don't have a SSN, so will be using the ITIN again.
