Good Afternoon,

I have been following the postings for a long time on vj. i learned a lot from this site so i decided to become a member.

My story is sad.

I live in the Bahamas. I met my husband seven years ago on business. We communicated for two years then he asked me to marry me. He moved to the Bahamas and we got married. We lived in the Bahamas for five years until the economy went down. Our company lost the major account so we decided that my husband would go back to the states to make enough money to support us.

He got a job right away and i would visit on a tourist visa for about two months then come back home The last time i stayed for the six months and overstayed by two weeks.

Before we left the Bahamas we applied for the green card in June 2012. the approval for the card came through in July 2013. the I-797 said the case was transferred to the NVC.

The case was not transferred. It went to Raleigh NC and we could not find it. My case was set for CP processing.

In August of this year, my mother got sick, she is 91 and she was asking to see me so i came home to spend some time with her. She died in the hospital of a broken hip. After the funeral i tried to go back to my husband but because i overstayed by two weeks, i was told that i need a visa to be able to go to the states.

This caused a lot of heart ache and pain and it also caused me and my husband to be apart for the first time in six years.

In any event, we were told that we had to submit a I-824 to have the case transferred to NVC. This process took three months, then we were told the file had to requested from NRC. We are still waiting. In the main time we did get an approval for expedite processing on the I-824 90 days after the notice date but todate we still have heard nothing.

Can anyone tell us how long the time is on waiting for a file to be transferred from the NRC to the field office and if it is expedite, how long until the file is sent to NVC?
