I hope everyone is doing well. My fiance's interview is this Friday, and needless to say, I am walking on pins and needles. But she is ready and prepared as much as she can be. I tried searching but couldn't find any information. I am preparing to purchase her ticket, but when I do, how do I get it to her? Didn't think about this until recently. Do I have it sent to me, then overnight it to her in Manila? Also, I found one for $669.00 through Orbitz. This seems to be a good price, especially considering what I have paid in the past. Anyone know of any good sites to purchase tickets other then what I have mentioned? I know that her name must be on the tickets, so I am guessing I will have to contact the airlines to do this. Thanks again for all of your help and I hope you all are doing well. Take care, Stacy.

Airlines generally do not print paper copy tickets any more. Buy the ticket online in her name and send her the receipt. She should have no problem when she presents her passport/visa for departure.

usually you will get an email with an eletronic itenerary in which she can print off and bring the the desk at the time of departure. then she will be given actual tickets.

personally, i'm going to have my wife purchase the ticket herself. i'm sending her a credit card with her name on it so she won't need to go in person to pay either, since the airport is far and she don't have any sort of way to pay over the phone or electronically without a CC.

Most airlines just use "e-tickets", where they just send you an email. Make sure her name is spelled correctly when you buy it. If they actually send you a paper ticket, I would suggest sending it to her via FedEx due to mail theft in the Philippines.

Just a word of caution - be careful of Northwest Airlines booking on NWA flight 72/78/XXX. This includes domestic Japanese flight 78 from Nagoya (NGO) to Tokyo (NRT).

You might think about getting the money to her and letting her purchase the ticket there. My travel agent recommended this to me and sure enough, Claudeth was able to get her ticket for about $150 less than what my agent could get it for. Good luck

What's the caution about NWA? I flew flight 72 through Nagoya 3-times, and my girl flew to America on flight 72. We never had any problems. And booking a one-way ticket from MNL on NWA.com was pretty cheap: w/taxes it was less then $750.

Connecting in Nagoya OR Narita isn't a problem as you are in the international teminal all the time. It's not flight 72 that's a problem, it's flight 78 (NGO-NRT) because it's a domestic Japanese flight.

I just bought my ticket last Friday and it is a paper ticket...hahaha.

I used a travel agent - I got much cheaper quotes - and ticket - through her. Also, I need some flexibility with the dates (just in case) and on-line tickets are sometimes non-refundable or cannot be changed.

I got the ticket for my fiance too and his ticket was cheaper round trip than one-way. I'm going to the interview so I'll just bring it along with me and give it to him.
