hello, everyone

- I need some help please !! I had an interview at Federal Plaza in NYC on May 12.

My husband and I think It went well but end of the interview the officer handed me the paper saying they need final review. She said we will get answer in 60 days.

I heard in 6 days at the time so i was so happy but my husband said NOOOO she said in 60 days :(

here's problem - I already have ticket to go to my home town next week. I was wondering is there anyway to get the answer soon or i can ask the I551 stamp??

If I heard 60days at the time, I would have asked about the trip but i'm stuck now - I don't think I can use infopass yet. ...

This is the questions we were asked,

-to me

-my husband's full name - where he works and the address, close street - his date of birth - Address we live current - what he does for living - his old companies.

-to him

-my full name - my parents name - if has he met my parents - my school ( i was student as F1) - where i lived before we live together - Address we live current-

-to both of us

- what do you like each other and don't like - where we met first time -

we gave some documents his W2 copy and letter from company and she asked us 2 pictures.

Did yes/no questions - she also copied our ID.

It took 30 mins and we waited 1 hour and 15 mins to be called (because the interview before us took that time)

I'm worried how long I need to wait :crying:

My son and I had an AOS interview yesterday and we were approved ! Praise God :D .. I was actually expecting we would be having RFE because my husband has been unemployed since last month but he did not ask for an updated affidavit of support. He asked if I, the beneficiary, am working and I said yes. Also, I thought he would ask for new medical because we did not go to civil surgeon and ours is already past 1 year ( though it was still good during filing) and my son has no medical records in the officer's file. Good thing we brought all the papers and he just asked for the photocopy of my son's ds 3025. The only thing that we forgot to bring was my husband's G 325a. Fortunately, after he browsed my files the second time, he found it. Questions were very basic like when and where you first met, your wedding date,if our family approved the wedding, who attended our wedding and asked for some joint accounts, bills, insurance etc. also, our plans for future. then the officer said you're approved! wait for your card to be mailed to you in two weeks. So happy and blessed that it went so well :)

Congrats!

Hi Everyone,

Its been months and i still haven't received interview date. The last update on my case was that they received the response to the RFE and the National Benefits Center office will resume working on my case again. There's a clause i dont understand, which is "You should receive a decision or case update by February 21, 2015, unless fingerprinting or an interview are needed.". I since haven't received any mail, sms or email.

Is anyone in this same situation? I need clarification please. I hope all is well!!!

Thanks!

PS. I submitted my application Nov 12.

Hello OAbram,

Any news on interview? I am a fellow Baltimore filer and any information would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have received my interview and it is scheduled for 20 July. They asked for medical examination unless already submited. Of course I have done my medical before my visa issued. On form I693 instruction it is written that if you have done your medical less than a year prior I 485 application then you dont need to do it again. Can someone share ideas?

Could you tell me when did you receive interview note?

I have to schedule work related travel, but have to be here for interview, so just trying to time it right.

Thank you in advance!

Had our interview appointment today. Shortly after we arrived they told us that the main service center didn't send them our file :( they didn't even know why we had an appointment scheduled. We had a copy of everything, but no officer had time to take a look at it. This is so depressing. We spent so much money so that we could make this interview on time and for nothing.

Nov 17 2014 - USCIS texts/emails received with case number
Nov 21 2014 - Biometric letter sent to us

Dec 02 2014 - Biometric letter received (Appointment on Dec 12)

Dec 11 2014 - Biometrics done (Appointment on 12)
Dec 04 2014 - RFE letter sent to us
Dec 18 2014 - RFE letter received(Request for Initial Evidence)
Feb 04 2015 - Evidence for RFE received
Feb 10/11/19- Card being ordered, produced, mailed to us

Feb 23 2014 - Received EAD card in mail (was supposed to be 21, delay due to snow storm.)

We had our interview today!!! And it was great. Everything went on smooth i suppose...Lol. The guy that interviewed us was a young guy and was very courteous, easy going and friendly.

He asked I and my wife basic questions to establish that our marriage was genuine. Questions asked were:

- Can you narrate how you guys met

- Who chased after who

- Who proposed

- How often did we meet before we got married

- Narrate how i engaged her (my wife)

- Have we met each others family

- How do we cope with life after marriage

- Are we not bother about our age difference (My wife is older than me :))

- Show photos and documents to buttress we live together and support our application.

- Where we have travelled together to

We submitted most of the requested documents in our first application so the only documents we submitted were the marriage certificate (certified), insurance document to show we both are listed, my employment letter and photos. She asked my wife to mention some of my families in the picture.

It was pretty basic questions that couples should definitely know about each other if they are legitimately married and love each other.

He then handed us a paper stating that he would review the interview and then get back to us if they require further information else we should get the card in mail in few weeks. He said "If you don't hear from us within the coming week then you should have your card in the mail"

So i suppose that went well and no red flags was raised. So i await an update on my case status soon...Fingers crossed!!!
