hello, everyone.

I finally got my interview notice by text and email on Thursday (4/09) at 7:30AM and received the letter on Sunday(4/11).

I could wait this because members here are so helpful and giving informations on time.

I applied 11/26/2015 and took 134 days to get an interview notice. My local office is in New York.

Hope I could help someone here by this too.

I am starting to prepare for the interview, of course with members here!!! Thank you !!

Good luck.

My son and I had an AOS interview yesterday and we were approved ! Praise God :D .. I was actually expecting we would be having RFE because my husband has been unemployed since last month but he did not ask for an updated affidavit of support. He asked if I, the beneficiary, am working and I said yes. Also, I thought he would ask for new medical because we did not go to civil surgeon and ours is already past 1 year ( though it was still good during filing) and my son has no medical records in the officer's file. Good thing we brought all the papers and he just asked for the photocopy of my son's ds 3025. The only thing that we forgot to bring was my husband's G 325a. Fortunately, after he browsed my files the second time, he found it. Questions were very basic like when and where you first met, your wedding date,if our family approved the wedding, who attended our wedding and asked for some joint accounts, bills, insurance etc. also, our plans for future. then the officer said you're approved! wait for your card to be mailed to you in two weeks. So happy and blessed that it went so well :)

Hello everyone!

I just returned from visiting my family in Bosnia :) I stayed almost 5 weeks and returned on the 21st. My POE was San Francisco. I went through the visitors line since I'm not a resident yet and it went smoothly. The officer just asked me if it was the first time I was using advance parole and he asked how long my trip was. Then he told me to go to secondary to get my parole stamped. I spent about 20 minutes in secondary while the card was being made. The officer was really nice and just asked me some basic questions - hair and eye color, height, weigh, length of trip, if I'm married, my phone number and if the address I put on customs form was current. Then he told me to wait for a bit and after a while he called my name again and gave me back my passport with a card stapled to it and another stamp giving the date when i was paroled and the expiration date of the parole. He didn't even ask to see my marriage certificate (different last names on passport and combo card). That was it :)

There was one lady in secondary that was kept for questioning, an officer told her to use the bathroom if she needs to because it was going to be a very long questioning :o

USCIS sent me a potential interview waiver letter on March 17 and I haven't heard from them since then :( So no updates there.

I hope you guys are doing well :)

Hi guys, Just wanted to give you an update. I traveled using my AP card last week and had no problems at all getting into the US. They didn't ask me anything regarding the marriage or why I even had the AP card, they just sent me to secondary inspection and after waiting for about 10 minutes they let me go.

On a different note, we had our interview this morning! We were called 5 mins after the time we were supposed to be there so we didn't wait at all. We were interviewed by a very nice lady and she made us feel comfortable from the very beginning, she was making jokes and all smiles. This really relaxed me. She checked our IDs first and then she went through our information to make sure it was accurate, she asked each one what our name, address and phone number was. She asked me when I had left the country for the last time and after that she proceeded with all the terrorism/criminal questions (she said: don't take it personal! and laughed), after that she asked if we had any documents to show her so I gave her copies of joint bank account statements, conEd statements, TimeWarner statements, medical insurance (my spouse added me through work) and a copy of our tax refund together.

After that she said, ok here comes the fun part let's see some photos! We had an album with about 150 pictures from the time we met till last weekend haha so she went through the photos and asked if we had traveled somewhere together, we said not yet because we are waiting for the green card so we can go to Europe together and she said oh how nice! She barely looked at the photos, I was kind of disappointed because I put so much effort in putting the album together and she was barely looking at them since she was asking us casual questions and looking at us while she was going through the album. She didn't even get to see all of the photos, she stopped halfway I think! haha maybe we brought too many.

She asked if we wanted to have children so we said no and she made a joke about it. After that she said, ok everything looks good I still have to do a final review and you will receive a decision in the mail in the next few weeks. Thanks to this forum I knew this is standard practice and did not freak out so we just said ok thanks very much! She asked if we had any questions for her, we said no and then she said ok well have a great day and send me some photos of your trip to Europe! I was shocked that we weren't asked any personal questions (what side of the bed you sleep on, toothbrush, etc).

As we were leaving the building I got a text message saying case updated to Card in Production!! We are so happy! It was so easy, fast and pleasant. Good luck to everyone and just be calm, bring lots of photos and joint statements and you will be fine! Thanks for all your help guys! :)

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to report after going for our interview on April 28th in New-York City.

So basically we arrived to a crowded room and had to wait for a little over an hour, but the lady checking us in warned us that it was a busy day. We were called by a very courteous IA, sat and took the oath. After this, the IA told us he had time to review our file beforehand and that was the reason it was so long. Then he proceeded to ask us a few questions (exactly: Why was my wife born abroad, and did I know where she had her tattooes made). After those two questions he asked me to confirm all the questions about drugs, firearms and communism in the application and told us that we were approved. The whole process took no more than 10 minutes and was such a relief for me.

So I wanted to thank everyone who contributed to VJ, it has been an invaluable resource and allowed us to file for Adjustment of Status without a lawyer, and I'm really thankful for that.

To those who haven't yet been interviewed, be patient and good luck. If your marriage is genuine, everything will be fine, it is less impressive than it seems.
