Must be a good thing. Means there is no need for welfare funding and there's obviously no crime. Who wouldn't like that?

Those illegal blacks keep sneaking into Vermont and raising their welfare numbers.

And be careful when you reach for your wallet to pay. They'll naturally assume you are going for your gun since EVERYONE in Vermont has a gun.

Thanks for the advice. I'll put my credit card on my forehead.

I hope they don't up and move when I get there.

See what I get for going to work? I miss the best thread . . . evaaah!

There was a time not so long ago when Americans, regardless of their political stripes, rallied ’round their president. Once elected, the man who won the White House was no longer viewed as a Republican or Democrat, but the president of the United States. The oath of office was taken, the wagons were circled around the country’s borders, and it was America versus the rest of the world, with the president of all the people at the helm.

Utter nonsense. Whichever Canadian wrote this obviously never studied US history, cuz that ain't even close to being the truth.

Four days before Obama’s inauguration, before he officially took charge of the American government, Rush Limbaugh boasted publicly that he hoped the president would fail.

So what? Limbaugh is an entertainer, not a public figure. He has no power to determine public policy, as the preznit does. And what does O'bama do in return? He calls out a private citizen in public. No class whatsoever. Wanna be treated presidentially? Then act like the president, not some arrogant, bellicose punk.

Subsequently, during his State of the Union address, which is pretty much a pep rally for America, an unknown congressional representative from South Carolina, later identified as Joe Wilson, stopped the show when he called the president of the United States a liar. The president showed great restraint in ignoring this unprecedented insult and carried on with his speech.

Interesting they'd use this as an example, as it turns out Joe "You lie!" Wilson was right. I know: boring facts.

The healthcare debate, which looked more like extreme fighting in a mud pit than a national dialogue, revealed a very vulgar side of America.

I can agree here, but for vastly different reasons. The Senate rules had to be changed in order to get this monstrosity passed, and various members' votes had to be bought off. I have yet to see a poll that showed a majority of Americans in favor of this steaming pile. Why exactly did it become law? I'd say the majority of Democrat Congressmen regret having helped pass it; it cost quite a few their careers. No regrets, eh O'bama? <_<

Obama’s face appeared on protest signs, white-faced and blood-mouthed in a satanic clown image. In other tasteless portrayals, people who disagreed with his position distorted his face to look like Hitler, complete with mustache and swastika.

Obviously this 'author' wasn't paying attention during the Bush years.

And still the “birthers” are out there claiming Barack Obama was not born in the United States

It's called "free speech". Apparently considered exotic in Canada. I'm no birther, but there was plenty that wasn't known about this guy before he was elected and the media was singularly incurious about his background. Not ideal if you're choosing the "leader of the free world", as the author refers to him.

In president Barack Obama, Americans have a charismatic leader with a good and honest heart.

"Charisma" doesn't count for much when considering job performance, and as for the "good and honest heart" part? What's with all the secrecy re: Fast & Furious, IRS, Benghazi, and why can't we have a public discussion (as promised!) re: health care reform, immigration, etc? Why must it all be shoved down citizens' throats via "executive decision", contrary to public opinion? Wonder why folks refer to him as a "dictator? No mystery there...

President Obama may fail but it will not be a Richard Nixon default, fraught with larceny and lies.

Now the 'authors' just lying, as none of his scandals are even mentioned. Because that would be "picking on him" or racist or something.

I've been waiting for you ALLLLLLLL day!

You say some off the wall stuff and I get angry at you sometimes, but you sure can bring humor to a thread.

This Canadian gave us a perspective of what the writer thinks is wrong with the Obama haters from across the border. You've got to love the boldness.

We haven't been this divided over a President since the Confederate and the Union. The author makes great points!!

When was the last time shops closed due to an election and there were signs up saying it was the end of America? I mean, we've had Dem presidents before, and I never saw such a reaction. And taking the country back? Where did our country go?

And so is yours. Your blatant disrespect towards women, people of color, and Muslims is well documented.

All the way back to when McGovern ran. Boy the good Ol bys hated that commie like there was no tomorrow. He was white I think

I am sure the reaction was based solely on the way he voted when he was in the Senate. <_<

What he actually voted in the Senate

Do not test me.

How is asking a question testing you?

Every thread is full of bickering and baiting. I can point out 100's of pages. How do you decide which ones to mod. is it like speeding you just pick out a few that catch your eye.

Testing you? really did you really say that?
