hi guys

Just wondering if anyone has used a co-sponsor for the k-1 visa and what your experience was with that? Such as what information the sponsor has to provide etc?

My fiancé the petitioner is unfortunately not making enough so his dad will be sponsoring me.

Thanks

It depends on the consulate if they will accept a joint sponsor for the K1, I believe most of them do. Someone can confirm soon if they are accepted in your consulate/embassy. The joint sponsor would need to meet the income requirements of course and submit an I-134 and supporting docs in addition to your fiancé.

This does not constitute legal advice.

The form I-864 isn't needed for the fiancé(e) visa. It will be needed when you are in the US, married, and submit the I-485. Therefore, the I-134 is what's needed for now. Same thing applies to any cosponsor you are using.
