RFE Received Online

I had asked my wife to go ask for advanced endorsement shortly after our wedding so we could get the NSO marriage certificate. My wife sent me a letter dated September 30 that they were expediting our marriage certificate. It was supposed to take about 3 weeks.

I sent her down there to investigate today as she still didn't get it and we need it for the RFE. It turns out they never even sent the file. Now she has to send the file with LBC 1 day service and next week they claim she can pick it up. Hopefully that's not 1 week Filipino time.

If it comes in one week I can live with it. It just amazes how inefficient the Philippines is.

You guys kinda hijacked the thread from the OP. No point in guessing what the RFE is for. It will come in the mail and you send back the information requested. If you missed a signature that sounds like a good candidate for the RFE. These things happen.

Did you read the post as it was already received. It was a NSO marrisge certificate. Nobody highjacked anything as I'm the original poster.

We have a letter from my wife's local government office dated September 30th requesting expedited service. So after the RFE my wife went to her local office to see why it was taking so long and found out they never shipped the file. She took the file and shipped it herself to her closest NSO.

Yesterday the NSO told her it might be ready Wednesday and if so she will drive 1.5 hrs to go pick it up. I told her to get 5 copies as they are really cheap when you get them locally. Once she picks it up, she will send it to me via LBC 5 day delivery. I will then Priority Express Mail it to NSC.

I am following your timeline to see when they approve you as it should give me a idea of my timeline. I wasn't expecting adjudication until April, so even with the RFE I think we are way ahead. The only thing I can think of us is the Philippines expedited processing, even thou she isn't even close to this area. It looks like it doesn't take long in most cases after turning in the request. I'm going to the Philippines in mid February so it would be nice to work on some of the things we will need.

yes I think they are still expediting Philippines .I do keep my timeline updated. what part of the Philippines are you going to ? I kinda understand this part of the process the next part nvc is where I think I will have more questions. I wish you safe trip there in Feb do not fly into terminal one try to fly in terminal 3 there are some international airlines that fly into there,but you probably already knew that

My wife is from Northern Luzon and I will be surprising her for her birthday. We will be in the province for a few days then we will fly back to Manila and then to El Nido Palawan. I will be in the Philippines a full 2 weeks this trip as I went for 4 weeks in September when we got married.

I like to fly on PAL as it's a direct flight and they land in terminal 2. I got a real good deal with ANA ($849) and it will land at terminal 1. I landed in terminal 1 on my first trip, I don't recall any issues. I have actually landed at all the terminals. I will only be taking a carry on, so I will try to make a quick departure as possible.

My wife received the NSO Marriage Certificate today. She sent it via LBC and usually it takes 5 days. As soon as I get it I will Express it to Nebraska Service Center to get my case active again.

That is good. I try to send my NSO certificate thru fed-ex but they told me they could not. I went to the post office. I had the usps deliver it overnight with tracking number. The certificate got there the next day with no problems

Yes, in the Phils., an NSO copy of marriage license, and birth cert. is required, we got caught up in the K-1 with the NSO, of birth cert. as at her interview they kept her original, and we had to go get another original of the birth cert., before the CFO!

NSO stands for national statics office. In the Philippines records such as Marriage, birth, death are sent to a central place for record keeping. Before you could send in the local civil copy of Marriage certificate, but now the USCIS is asking for the NSO copy from the Philippines. I am not sure how Vietnam does their records but you should be ok with the stuff you sent in

I got approved on the 7th.It was 19 days after I sent my response in, maybe yours will not take that long

Congratulations!

I think mine will be approved this month also.

The tough part will be NVC. I will need three police certificates. Unfortunately they won't issue without the checklist.
