I am pretty sure it is asking for the nso copy of marriage certificate too. I have not heard of the other service centers asking for it but Nebraska is for some reason.you will just need to send in the nso copy and the rfe letter you receive in the mail. After they receive the evidence. You should be approve fairly fast. I know of 5 cases now that ask for that.mine took the longest to be approve but it still was not that long it was 19 days after they receive it

I hope it is just the nso marriage certificate. Nebraska is my service center too. 19 days is pretty fast. I hope our approval is just as fast. Thank you!

So i finally got the rfe in the mail today, and sure enough they're asking for an nso copy of our marriage certificate. Quick question though, did your letters have this :"Applicants should request certificates that are issued with a "CDLI endorsement" (court documents and legal instruments). this endorsement shows any amendments to the original documents from marriages, annulments, name changes etc. unless a cdli copy is requested, the requester will receive the unamended or original copy of the document." What does this mean? Do i need a cdli copy? Or will the nso copy i got around 2 months ago be good enough. Thanks in advance. I just want to be sure im sending the correct document. I don't want another rfe.

I had the same problem and they took my NSO marriage certificate without any special endorsements. They responded in a fast manner to my RFE.

yes I had that too. You will be ok just sending in the nso marriage certificate. I think that is for anyone that had any changes to the marriage certificate.

you should be approve fairly fast once you send it in. I was approve pretty fast but I believed Isabela was approve even faster and another person also. You are almost to the NVC stage

USCIS and NVC recognizes the NSO issued MC. I sent the original NSO MC printed in SECPA to USCIS, no issues encountered.

can anyone explain what the NSO copy is? we are very confused, we sent in an official stamped certificate which we paid for. Do they want the one which came in the mail?

Im not a hundred percent sure, but I think it might just be for philipines, I hope, because nobody has ever said anything to me about a NSO before

It is a Filipino thing - NSO - National Statistics Office

yes the NSO is only for the Philippines it is a central locations that all civil records are sent to in the Philippines .It is the NSO - National Statistics Office. Before when a I-130 petition was file, they would except the local civil registar copy of the marriage certificate at the USCIS. Then at the NVC stage a person could send in the NSO copy. Now the USCIS is starting to make people filing for Philippines send the NSO copy in in with the I-130 petition especially the Nebraska service center

Nope they dnt accept civil registrar copy of marriage or birth certificate. They will always ask you for the NSO copy. It happened to me the first time i sent my daughter's petetion to uscis. I sent them the registrars copy and the sent me a request for evidence bcoz they want the nso Copy of birth ceritificate and marriage contract. Its really sucks but thats how philiipines are doing it and uscis and nvc are just following the rules in the philippines regarding birth certificates and marriage contracts.

Before the USCIS was accepting the local civil registar copy of the marriage certificate with the I-130 petitions. They were requesting the NSO copy at the NVC stage. there are number of older posts on here saying the NSO was not required with the I-130 petition

That is why I started this thread because from older posts I read I just sent in the Local civil copy of my marriage certificate, but got an RFE for the NSO copy. others also have gotten RFE for same thing from reading older posts.

A member even posted on the first page of this topic that he just sent in the local civil registar copy with his petition and was approve

So no it has not always been like that. I am not even sure if all service centers are asking for it. I have only seen RFE for the NSO copy from Nebraska
