congrats on your NOA2

the next step can take 10 days to 40 days or more in some cases.

After two weeks (I found anything less is a waste of time and you set yourself up for disappointment) you can start to call nvc and ask about case number, call about twice a from there on. read NVC threads

Complete ds-160 online save but do not submit until you have new case number. both petitioner and beneficiary should review ds160 to insure its correct. we both reviewed it several times and until we both went over it and could not find any errors we were not satisfied. as long as you go in and click save once in a while it will be good, it is automatically saved for 30 days after it is saved.

Start to gather I-134 data and other required documents and I suggest sending a copy to beneficiary as soon as it is complete, and then send an updated if need be. this part of ours went like lightning, had I not sent fiancée an early copy we would have missed a five window of open appointment schedules for medical exam and interview and would of had to of waited another sixty days for the next available interview date.

Go consulate/ embassy specific information at top of VJ.

Also search threads specifically related to your consulate you will find helpful information by reading what others have already asked / researched and posted

Thank you for such a comprehensive answer, that is very helpful! I actually am the beneficiary and am hoping to spend Christmas with my OH so we can gather the necessary documents for the affidavit of support whilst I am there. I hope things go smoothly from here on out as I am praying I can be there from the end of February, as I have to fly there anyway to attend a friends wedding, so it would just be easier if I could stay! Fingers crossed!

Awesome, so happy for you! Congratulations!

I'd start calling NVC after a week, if you're patient.

Thank you so much! I didn't realise you could start calling after a week, I'll get my OH on it haha :P

Has anyone else who got their NOA2 recently heard that their case is at NVC yet? It seems to be the luck of the draw as to how quickly it gets there...

Hopefully they will be sending another batch from CSC to NVC really soon then!

Is calling NVC the only way to find out if it has arrived there? I find it amazing we don't receive some kind of update or notification... :huh2:

Wont they mail it to you? Not sure if it shows up on the USCIS case status online.. I hasnt accepted my log-in since I set it up, it worked then but not since. I wont accept my log in ID or password, wont accept my password hint, tells me there is no such log in ID. When i tried to set up a 2nd account, said log in ID was already in use. Anyone else having troubles with them or is it just valid up until you get the NOA2?

Haven't had this issue myself, have you tried phoning them? Hope it gets sorted soon!

Hi,

Funny thing, shortly after I posted it worked but doesnt show anything new. Does the USCIS case status online site update through the entire process or is it just to track the NOA2?

I think just NOA2 from what I've read on VJ. Not 100% on that though.

Ok, Does seem a little silly to do when they are kicking them out in less than a week but then if it had taken them a few months.....
