Previously held B1/B2 now applying for just B2?

Hello,

I completed DS-160 on behalf of my father.While filling the DS-160 form i somehow made a mistake and put B2 instead of B1/B2.The problem is all his prior visas were B1/B2.He has already paid the fee and printed the confirmation page which glaringly states B2-for tourism and medical.And since he's applying within 2 months of visa expiry date he's opting for the 'dropbox' method.Will it hurt his chances of getting a visa? I don't wanna be paying another 160$ for a stupid mistake if it could be rectified.Can I create a new application with the same confirmation number, since the payment recorded the confirmation number?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Does your father require the visa for business purposes?

Can't use the same fee receipt to create a new aplication. Doesn't matter. Embassy will likely issue B1/Be anyway, since they usually do. If it'a a question of using the drop box, the worst that would happen would be he would be called in for an interview; he wouldn'T be denied jus for that.

B1 is business. B2 is tourist. It doesn't matter if your father is just visiting. They almost always issue a B1/B2 anyway even if you clicked just B2.
