Are you asking if we're afraid of dying? If so, I am at times. I see death almost everyday in my line of work. Sometimes it makes me wish I hadn't taken as many things for granted. I try not to now. I'm afraid, not because of the "after-life" and what God has in store for me when I do go, but because I will be leaving people I care about behind. I'm afraid it will hurt. I don't even take BREATHING for granted anymore. I know that someday it will happen. And that one day, I could just STOP breathing, but I don't want to know when it happens. I don't want to suffer from it.

When it comes to being with your significant other and dying, I get selfish. I want to be the one to go first. I don't want to spend the rest of my life (if he were to die many years or even a couple years before me) knowing he's gone, and he won't be coming back.

I'm not afraid of being dead, I just don't want it to hurt. Unfortunately we don't get to choose the method to die.

I hear that drowning is supposed to be the most peaceful way to die but not for nuthin', how the heck would anyone know that since the only ones who would know are dead?

I'm afraid of dying in a terrifying situation like a plane crash or car going off a bridge into the water, where you'd have a few minutes of knowing what horrible fate you were about to meet before actually meeting it.

I think that is the best way. Very peaceful way to go. My dad passed away in this manner in his favorite chair.

I don't fear death itself but since I'm an atheist and believe that I'll simply disapear once I die I find it unsettling to think of simply not existing anymore, and not even being aware of it. I love life too much and I wish I could be eternal.

My fears about death are it being painful, not dying first (before hubby) and also that something will happen to one of us during the separation and we would never see each other again, therefore spending all this time suffering in vain.

I'm the opposite. I believe in Heaven and the thought of being there for all eternity and it never ending freaks me out. My vision of Hell is not necessarily outright suffering (or burning, lol) but simply a conscious existence separated from God. I guess in that case I would prefer Heaven rather than being aware of separation from God for all eternity, but my ideal situation would be to just die and call it a day...
