I filed my taxes as Single, amend?

I'm wanting to amend my tax return for 2013 because I was legally married in October but we had the wedding in January. Should I bother amending? And if so, I'm at the NVC stage, I have to send in the affidavit of support and if I amend, IRS takes about 6-8 weeks. Should I just send the original tax return with a copy of the amended tax return until it's all official?

I'm not quite sure what to do. I don't want to hold off on sending the paperwork because I know it takes up to 2 months just for them to read it.

Help!
